“American Pickers” always delivers interesting tidbits for those who consider themselves amateurs at picking antiques and collectibles.
Former show host Frank Fritz offered some wisdom around this subject during a 2014 interview with Sidewalks Entertainment. He and then-co-host Mike Wolfe were asked what advice they would give someone who wanted to barter with a seller.
“I mean, you know, it’s all about knowledge,” Fritz said. “Educate yourself on your product and what you have and you’re buying so you can be smart about the items you are buying. And then, you know, might be able to teach them something.”
‘American Pickers’ Has Moved On After History Channel Fired Fritz
When this interview was done, Wolfe and Fritz were on good terms, and “American Pickers” was quite popular. The History Channel show remains a fan favorite as people all over the United States watch the work both men do.
Fritz, though, is no longer with the show. He was fired in 2021 after being off the air for some health issues. Fritz underwent back surgery and also has been to rehab for substance abuse, specifically for alcoholism. He also expressed frustration with Wolfe, saying in an interview that he and his “American Pickers” co-host hadn’t spoken in two years.
This season, Danielle Colby, who has worked with Wolfe in his office in Le Claire, Iowa, is a host on the show. She has appeared in previous episodes, too, when Wolfe would be in his store.
Fans Of Show Found Wolfe’s Comments About Former Co-Star Empty
As for Fritz, he has been rather public about his frustrations in being fired by The History Channel. Fritz also has claimed that Wolfe wanted all the popularity and got the show to tip in his direction.
Wolfe had posted on Instagram about Fritz no longer being a part of the show. He wrote, “I will miss Frank, just like all of you, and I pray for the very best and all good things for him on the next part of his journey.”
Fans of “American Pickers” weren’t buying Wolfe’s comments. Yet with more background on the situation revealed, Wolfe again spoke out about Fritz.
“We all do care about Frank and we want him back on the show. I would love to talk with him again, we would absolutely love to, but he just can’t get it right,” Wolfe said in a recent interview with The Sun. “It’s unfortunate that he’s made decisions that have him the way he is.”
Fritz, in his own interview with The Sun, owned up that he’d check himself into rehab. After being sober for a year, Fritz did have a relapse. Now he’s back to focusing on his recovery.
