Frank Fritz is ready for his own show after his departure from American Pickers.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Fritz spoke about the potential for his own show. He said that fans have even created a petition to have him get reinstated on the show. In a previous interview, he also spoke about a showrunner also wanting him back.
“I could go either way and find a new show, have something new and have just as much fun,” he shared. “That’s what it’s all about, being satisfied with yourself and having a little bit of fun.”
However, he’s not currently in the “mode” to get a potential series picked up.
“I’m in the position now where if there was a show or something, they could pick me up,” he explained.
After over eleven years on American Pickers, television executives know that he can work fifteen-hour days seven days a week.
“They know I have been working for 10, 12 years and that I have the capabilities and the qualities to do it,” he added. “I was talking to one of the guy’s on the show and he was saying it would be a total loss if I don’t keep going or get something rolling. He was saying ‘You’re such a talented person, you need to do a lot of different things.'”
Fritz is seemingly thrilled to get the notoriety and admiration from fans following his abrupt exit from American Pickers.
Frank Fritz’s ‘American Pickers’ Exit
Frank Fritz left American Pickers due to COVID-19, back surgery, and alcohol addiction. He has since recovered and revealed that he wanted to return despite his and Mike Wolfe’s feud. Although Fritz believed that he was just on hiatus from the show, Wolfe released a statement via Instagram.
Fritz told the outlet that his “statement was bulls–t, somebody wrote it out for him”. Fritz noted that they haven’t been friends since grade school. He revealed that Wolfe never reached out over the past two years. Fritz also alleged that Wolfe hasn’t said five nice things to him in ten years.
During the conversation, Fritz said that he would return to the show despite his lack of communication with Wolfe. He said that he is sober and fully recovered from the back surgery.
Meanwhile, Danielle Colby shared her “full support” of Wolfe and was“truly saddened for the loss of Frank on the show”. She revealed that the reason she is speaking up about his exit now is because of the fan and media speculation.
“I wish things could have been different but we must be accountable for our actions when we cause instability or pain and suffering to others. Frank caused so much pain for himself that it has been hard to watch. I truly hope Frank receives all the help he needs to become well after years of being unwell,” she added.
