‘American Pickers’: Who Will Replace Frank Fritz?

Better yet, does “American Pickers” intend on replacing Frank Fritz at all? History Channel’s official answer would indicate no. At least, they don’t plan on doing so for the time being. To that end, Frank Fritz’s replacement may not be one new addition. But rather a mix of other personalities who have been featured over the last 10 years on the show.

The most obvious choice for a formal replacement would be Mike Wolfe’s brother, Robbie. Fans of “American Pickers” know him well from his 75-plus appearances on the show over the years. He is an experienced picker, running his own antique business. And if “American Pickers” is looking for someone to match the lifelong rapport of Frank Fritz and Mike Wolfe, who have been friends since eighth grade, what better option than Mike’s own brother?

That being said, there have been several minor personalities that may prove to be good options should “American Pickers” go the full-on replacement route. The man fans know as “Jersey” Jon has made multiple appearances on the show over the years. In fact, he tagged along with Mike Wolfe during the entire January 25, 2021 episode titled “Pumps, Prints and Picks.” He’s clearly qualified in terms of his knowledge, and he seems to love hitting the road with Wolfe.

Of course, we can’t forget the “American Pickers” staple, Danielle Colby. She generally held down the fort at the Antique Archaeology office while Mike and Frank went out picking. Colby often acts as the coordinator for much of Wolfe’s business, prioritizing people and places to visit about potential scores. She is popular with fans, is passionate and knowledgeable, and brings a female perspective to the table. History Channel could certainly do worse.

Despite Frank Fritz’s Opinion, ‘American Pickers’ Insisted on No Replacement

In an answer that could mean pretty much anything, the History Channel told US Weekly that “American Pickers” doesn’t intend on replacing Frank Fritz… right now.

Fritz himself seemed to be convinced that Mike Wolfe wanted to squeeze him out so that he could make Robbie a permanent fixture on the show.

“I think Mike wants to get his brother Robbie in there to replace me. I don’t know why he’s behaving like that towards me. You couldn’t just stick two people in a van and get the chemistry you get from me and Mike. We’ve known each other for about 40 years. We can finish each other’s sentences,” Frank told The Sun in late July.

Based on the ambiguous statement from the History Channel, there’s a halfway decent chance that network execs are dialing away at this very moment, looking for a new star to put in Frank’s place. Whatever the case, “American Pickers” enjoyed improved ratings over the past few weeks without a formal replacement.
