“Blue Bloods” star Bridget Moynahan doesn’t forget her friends. And on Wednesday, she proved it by wishing her friend and “Blue Bloods” co-star Marisa Ramirez a happy birthday.
“Happy Birthday, @MarisaMRamirez!” Moynahan tweeted Wednesday. “Hope you have a wonderful day my friend.”
‘Blue Bloods’ Actress Turns 44 Today
Ramirez is turning 44 today, and she’s got an impressive body of work, including her performances on “Blue Bloods,” to show for it.
On “Blue Bloods,” Ramirez plays Detective Maria Baez, Danny Reagan’s (Donnie Wahlberg) NYPD partner. And the cast of the show are all one big happy family, the actors have said in interviews. Ramirez recently told PopCulture that Wahlberg was “so welcoming” when she signed on to play his partner on the show.
“And we just hit it off from day one, and have developed such a friendship from that moment until now,” Ramirez said.
While Ramirez has starred in other shows, none of them have lasted as long as “Blue Bloods.” The show’s longevity has allowed the cast’s relationships to deepen with time. And she said the pandemic has only strengthened the cast’s bonds.
“Other jobs I’ve had… I’m three years with this person or three months with this person, but this is now… We’re at eight years,” Ramirez said. “And I think our relationship has definitely evolved more so this year.”
Ramirez Lets Her Guard Down With Castmates
The camaraderie on set is “such a beautiful thing,” Ramirez said. It has cemented the cast’s rapport and even translated onto the screen with less guarded performances, as well.
“You hear so many horror stories about actors who worked together so long, and they secretly hate each other,” she told PopCulture. “And we just love each other… I’m so excited to be at work with him and to feel safe with someone who knows me, because I feel like I keep my guard up with other actors, or crew, or whoever, and this is a place where I can let it down… It feels very safe and comfortable.”
And now Moynahan is underscoring the cast’s comfort with each other by sending Ramirez some happy birthday wishes. It just goes to show that on the “Blue Bloods” set and off it, the show’s stars feel at home with each other.
