The widow of former Blue Bloods guest star Nick Cordero took to social media on Monday to express her emotions as she sends her son off to preschool.

There are numerous New York actors who have made appearances on the police drama Blue Bloods. That list includes the late Nick Cordero. Known as a prominent Broadway actor, he appeared in three episodes of Season 8 of Blue Bloods. He played Victor Lugo.

However, Cordero passed away in Los Angeles on July 5, 2020, after a long battle with COVID-19. He was only 41-years-old. He had to be admitted to the intensive care unit back in March where he was hospitalized for the next three months. The actor even had his right leg amputated due to complications.

Cordero’s wife is The Talk co-host, Amanda Kloots. She is now parenting the couple’s two-year-old son, Elvis, by herself. Grief affects everyone differently, there are few pains in life like losing your significant other too early. Kloots made a heartwrenching post on Instagram in which she shows the couple’s son getting ready for his first day of preschool without his dad.

“I was doing fine until all of a sudden got super emotional. Another part of grief you have to face that you don’t realize until the moment. Nick should be here. We should be doing this together. Chin up. Brave face.”

“First day of preschool! These were all of my emotions this morning 😭🤪🥳😫😍” Kloots wrote alongside an adorable photo of her son Elvis.

It wasn’t just Blue Bloods fans who were in awe over the post from Amanda Kloots. Even fellow co-host on The Talk, Carrie Ann Inaba, left a comment.

“Can you be any cuter Elvis? ❤️❤️” Inaba wrote.

‘Blue Bloods’ Star Sent Condolences to Nick Cordero’s Family

Amanda Kloots first made the announcement of her husband’s passing on Instagram. But other Blue Bloods stars were quick to offer their support.

“God has another angel in heaven now. My darling husband passed away this morning. He was surrounded in love by his family, singing and praying as he gently left this earth.”

“I am in disbelief and hurting everywhere. My heart is broken as I cannot imagine our lives without him. Nick was such a bright light,” Kloots said of her late husband. “He was everyone’s friend, loved to listen, help, and especially talk. he was an incredible actor and musician. He loved his family and loved being a father and husband. Elvis and I will miss him in everything we do, every day”

Blue Bloods star Bridget Moynahan shared a tribute to Nick Cordero. She posted a picture of Cordero in a cop car with co-stars Donnie Wahlberg and Marisa Ramirez. She captioned the photo, “Heartbreaking news late last night about Nick Cordero. Sending love to Nick’s [sic] family. It’s just so unbelievable!”
