Like many fellow actors, “Bosch” actor Titus Welliver remembered Michael K. Williams on Monday, saying he was “gone too soon.”
“Heartbroken by this tragic news,” the actor tweeted with an NBC News story. “Rest brother. Gone too soon.”

Several fans responded on Twitter to the unfortunate news and even remembered the connection to Bosch. In the first episode of Season 7, they recalled a nod to Williams’ character from “The Wire” about having a code to live by.
Police responded Monday to Williams’ Brooklyn apartment, where they found the 54-year-old actor deceased. One report said Williams’ nephew found the body before calling authorities. Another report from CNN stated that police found drug paraphernalia near the body. An investigation is ongoing.
A Willams family representative asked for privacy for the grieving family.
Williams is up for an Emmy for his performance as Montrose Freeman in the recent HBO series “Lovecraft County.” In his career, he had five Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
The actor had memorable roles in shows like “The Wire” and “Boardwalk Empire.” He also starred in films like “Gone Baby Gone,” “The Road,” and “12 Years a Slave.”
Williams was also known for an extended facial scar. At 25, an assailant cut Williams with a razor blade during a New York City bar fight.
‘Bosch’ Actor Remembers Another Fallen Actor
Also, on Monday, Welliver Tweeted a memorial for another actor.
Welliver posted a New York Times obituary of Jean-Paul Belmondo. The actor was 88 when he died.
“Rest in power good man,” Welliver said. “Thank you for the inspiration and beautiful work.”
The article called Belmondo, the “magnetic star of the French New Wave, Dies at 88.” Others posted memories to go with Welliver’s post, remarking that Belmondo did his own stunts.
‘Bosch’ Actor Not Sure About Return
Since the spin-off announcement, Welliver, Mimi Rogers (Honey Chandler), and Madison Lintz (Maddie Bosch) had confirmed roles.
However, another famous “Bosch” actor doubted he would return with Welliver’s “Bosch” character.
Lance Riddick, who plays Chief of Police Irv Irving, recently mentioned that he might not be in the “Bosch” spin-off.
The actor told the Daily Express that he didn’t know how much time he’d had left on the show.
“I’m not sure how much reason [Bosch] will have to interface with the chief of police,” Reddick said. “Given the nature of the spin-off, that he is now going to be a private investigator, I’m not sure.”
Reddick was a “Bosch” fan, and he said he was excited to see it either way.
Reddick also explained that he almost didn’t appear in the original “Bosch” series, not wanting to play a familiar role. He played the prominent role of Cedric Daniels in “The Wire” as a foil to Williams’s Omar Little.
