Candace Cameron Bure is still close with her “Full House” co-stars. And that includes the scandal-plagued Lori Loughlin, who recently finished a prison sentence for her role in the college admissions bribery scheme.
On a recent episode of “Daily Blast Live,” Cameron Bure spoke out about her former co-star. She said she’s been in contact with Loughlin since Loughlin got out of prison in December of last year.
“Yes, I’ve talked to Lori many times and she’s doing well,” Cameron Bure said, according to E! Online.
Candace Cameron Bure has previously said that the “Full House” cast considers each other family and will always try to be there for each other.
Lori Loughlin Paid $500,000 in Bribes to Get Daughters into USC
The 56-year-old actress was among more than 50 wealthy parents and teachers who allegedly paid big money to Rick Singer, the man behind the bribery scheme, to get their kids into highly-ranked colleges. Singer’s methods were to present the students as athletes when they weren’t or to cheat on standardized tests.
For Loughlin, Singer passed her daughters Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose off as prospective members of the crew team at the University of Southern California. They were not. In college sports, according to NBC News, coaches sometimes have extra pull in the admissions process.
Actress Felicity Huffman also took part in the scam. She confessed to paying $15,000 to get a proctor to change her daughter Sofia Grace Macy’s SAT answers.
USC, Yale University, Stanford University, Wake Forest University and Georgetown University were among the schools caught up in the FBI investigation of cheating. It became known as “Operation Varsity Blues.”
Loughlin wound up serving two months in prison and upon her release has to perform 100 hours of community service and pay a $150,000 fine. Her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, served five months in prison. He had to pay a $250,000 fine and serve 250 hours of community service.
Candace Cameron Bure Has a Wedding Anniversary Coming Up
This June, Cameron Bure will be celebrating her 25th wedding anniversary with husband Valeri Bure. She told Entertainment Tonight that there’s “a little pressure” to do something extra and step up her game.
Cameron Bure and her husband have reportedly been spending the pandemic working on their marriage. She said they’ve been passing so much time together that she’s discovered anew why she married him.
“Some days you just gotta hang in there, ’cause you’re in it and you gotta stay in it, even if you don’t wanna be in it,” Cameron Bure told ET. “It’s hills and valleys along the way.”
Perhaps on the “Full House” group chat, Cameron Bure’s co-stars can wish her a happy anniversary. They are always there for each other, after all.
