It’s one of television’s most anticipated game show events. “Wheel of Fortune” has been a viewer favorite since it hit the airwaves in the 1980s. The hit show can be even better during the “Wheel of Fortune” fan-favorite special: “Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune.”

“We’d like to solve the puzzle,” the game show announced in a July 15 Instagram post. “#CelebrityWheelofFortune is returning to ABC on September 26 at 8/7c!”

One of the most exciting parts of this special game-show series is the fact that “Wheel of Fortune” finally becomes a prime-time player during the event.

According to a recent Entertainment Weekly article that was released before the winter 2021 “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” event, the game rules are the same, but the set is a little jazzier.

“As far as the game, it’s going to be the same,” the “Wheel of Fortune” host noted. “We’ve jazzed up the set a bit, made it look a little more prime-timey, whatever that means.”

“Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” Brings the “Fun” to Fundraising

Pat Sajak added that the primetime version of “Wheel of Fortune” has a different vibe as well. The prime-time special series is for laughs and charity along with the regular competition. The players are playing to win and help their chosen charity. But it’s definitely not all serious on the set. The celebrity players are also there to enjoy the game.

“We’re mainly there to have fun,” said Sajak. “It’ll be a little lighter in attitude.”

Hosted by game show icons Pat Sajak and Vanna White, “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” brings big names to the popular word game. During the popular prime-time event, celebrities are invited to spin the famous wheel and solve the puzzles. All money won during the series is donated to the celebrity’s charity of choice.

During the game, the special-guest contestants have the chance to win up to one million dollars for their chosen charity.

Former “Celebrity” contestants include Leslie Jones, Tony Hawk, Drew Carey, Jennie Garth, Chandra Wilson, and Teri Hatcher, and Chrissy Metz.

An Iconic Fan Favorite

Since the “Wheel of Fortune” hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White stepped onto the stage together for the first time, the pair has been one of the most iconic game show pairs of all time. With “Wheel’s” one-of-a-kind wheel packed full of amazing prizes the show has been a hit since its premiere decades ago.

The iconic letter-board sets the stage for the hang-man-style guessing game. The nightly show is just as exciting for the at-home viewers as it is for the contestants themselves.

The popular game show has taken home multiple Emmy awards during its multiple-season run.
