NBC’s hit TV series Chicago Fire has reportedly promoted Hanako Greensmith, who plays Violet Mikami, as a series regular ahead of the show’s Season 10 premiere. Greensmith has notably appeared in the show’s 8th and 9th seasons. Her character is the ex-girlfriend of Blake Gallo, who is played by Alberto Rosende.
Hanako previously took to her Instagram to share her excitement for being on Chicago Fire’s set. “Idk ho to be cute about this so here’s a series of me being excited in the trailer yesterday,” she says in a post featuring her wearing a Chicago Fire shirt. “thank you so much for watching and for all the love this last week. It was very surreal to take on as much as I got to take on, and I’m so friggin grateful for it.”
Prior to joining the Chicago Fire cast, appeared on other TV shows, including Bull, Chicago Med, and FBI.
‘Chicago Fire’ Gears Up For Season 10 on NBC
Chicago Fire first premiered on NBC in 2012. According to its IMDb page, the show follows the lives of the firefighters, as well as the paramedics working at the Chicago Fire Department firehouse of Engine 51, Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 61, and Battalion 25. The show’s synopsis also reads, “Following the death of fireman Andrew Darden, loyalties fracture and divide as the leader of Truck 81, Lt. Matthew Casey, and the leader of the elite rescue squad, Lt. Kelly Severide, both blame each other. Despite the differences, the firehouse comes together after the near-death of firefighter Christopher Herrmann.”
Starring in Chicago Fire is Jesse Spencer, Taylor Kinney, Christian Stolte, Eamonn Walker, Joe Minoso, and Randy Flagler. The show is the first installment of the Chicago franchise, which includes Chicago Med and Chicago P.D.
The Chicago franchise creator, Dick Wolf previously spoke with Variety about the franchise’s popularity. “It is my fondest hope that the rains continue to validate [NBC’s] decision to stack the branded shows,” Wolf explains. “Research shows that three hours of primetime should really be seen as a three-hour binge, which is what viewers want.”
Wolf also spoke about Chicago franchise’s connection with his other creations, FBI and Law & Order. “ There are definitely similarities [between the franchises]. In a macro way, everything is related,” he says. “Tracy [Spiridakos] from Chicago P.D. replaced Missy Peregrym on FBI when Missy as pregnant. It wasn’t a stretch. So there is the possibility of interconnectivity between the brands… In the fall, characters on any shows could appear in the other eight. The potential is algorithmic.”
When Is Chicago Fire‘s Season 10 Set to Premiere?
The official release date for Chicago Fire’s season 10 is not expected to be announced by NBC until later this summer, but the show’s history suggests that the new season will premiere sometime in late September.
