Chris Pratt found an amazing way to honor the country this week in celebration of Flag Day.
The actor jumped with the Navy parachute team dubbed the “Leap Frogs.” He shared a clip of it on his Instagram account.
While tagging the Navy Leap Frogs official social media account, Chris Pratt wrote: “I love our flag. The Stars and Stripes represent all of us. Every American regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or political leaning is protected and free to be themselves in this great country. This banner is yours. You are free to say whatever kind of crazy a** s**t you want in this country. And the crazy a** s**t I want to say is this: “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the USA. And to the republic for which it stands. One nation, UNDER GOD, #Indivisible, with Liberty and a justice for all.”
Chris Pratt Has New Movie Premiering Next Month
Chris Pratt, the star of Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World franchises, is promoting his new movie, The Tomorrow War. The movie is scheduled for a July 2 digital release on Amazon. Pratt plays Dan. The movie is described on IMDb as “a family man is drafted to fight in a future war where the fate of humanity relies on his ability to confront the past.”
Pratt married Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019. The couple celebrated their second anniversary earlier this month. The two are recent parents of baby Lyla, who was born last August. He recently told People about the special Daddy time he spends with his daughter.
“She’s such a little wiggle worm,” Pratt said. “The 20 minutes before I go to work is like our special time. And we sit out on this little chair or this little couch thing on the balcony, in front of the fireplace and there’s this little heater, and we have our time together. It’s like kid time. She’s always wiggling around and you have to distract her with the toy. She doesn’t want to just cuddle yet.”
Pratt Married into Big Political Family, but Says He Isn’t a Member of Either Party
While Pratt may not be overly outspoken about politics, he definitely married into a multi-layered political family. His wife is the daughter of action hero Arnold Schwarzenegger, who also was the governor of California. Arnold is considered a moderate Republican. Pratt’s mother-in-law is journalist Maria Shriver, whose father was the 1972 Democratic nominee for Vice President. Her uncle was John F Kennedy and her uncles were Robert Kennedy Jr and Teddy Kennedy.
Yet Chris Pratt said he doesn’t consider himself a Democrat or Republican, although he did give a $1,000 donation to the Barack Obama campaign in 2012.
“I don’t feel represented by either side,” Pratt told Men’s Fitness magazine in 2017. “I really feel there’s common ground out there that’s missed because we focus on the things that separate us.”
