Music industry icon John Legend is in Washington D.C. today as he prepares to perform for incoming President Joe Biden’s Inauguration.
Legend and his wife, model Chrissy Teigen, have been in the nation’s capitol since yesterday for Legend’s rehearsal. While there, they took some time to mingle with service men and women providing security for the big event.
Teigen says she and Legend became lost on their way to perform a soundcheck. It is easy to get lost in Washington D.C. but thankfully the couple found their way to the stage and got to speak with a few military members along the way.
Teigen took to social media on Wednesday to share the experience with fans and also recognize the brave men and women protecting the event. She and John legend also took a few photos with camo-clad men in women to share with social media followers.
“We got lost on the way to sound check but stumbled across these literal f*****g heroes,” she writes in the post’s caption.
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are quite popular on social media as evidenced by their huge Instagram followings. Legend has 13.4 million Instagram followers but Teigen easily bests that number with 33.7 million followers. Her photo with the troops took in more than 1 million “likes” in less than 10 hours.
It also drew thousands of comments and reposts. A similar post on her Twitter drew well over 100,000 “likes” within the same time period. Many of Teigen’s social media followers used the tweet’s comment section to provide their own salute to the military and thank them for their service.
President-elect Joe Biden will be sworn in during today’s ceremony, becoming the country’s 46rh president. Legend is one of several entertainers in today’s musical talent lineup. Other music stars performing today include Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and Justin Timberlake. A television special this evening will feature Bruce Springsteen, Katy Perry and Foo Fighters.
Legend, now 42-years-old, is one of the most recognizable names in all of the music industry. Since hitting the scene in the early 2000’s, Legend has accumulated a wealth of awards and recognition. He and Teigen tied the knot in 2013 and have three children together.
