Deadliest Catch stars Sig and Mandy Hansen are getting into the holiday spirit by partaking in some special projects. Usually, the two are bundled up on the Bering Sea, trolling the waters for cold-water crustaceans. This Christmas season, though, the father-daughter duo will be spending some quality time in the woodshop creating a mantle fit for the most festive stockings. Although, with Mandy’s baby bump now as big as Santa’s belly, her dad might have to do most of the heavy lifting.
The special feature is a part of Home Town stars Ben and Erin Napier’s holiday celebration. And if you’re not sure what Ben’s Holiday Workshop entails, the host has you covered with a catchy Christmas jingle.
‘Tis the weeks before Christmas, and all through the town
Both holiday spirit and projects abound.
With I in my workshop and Erin on design,
Plus a few special guests means a wonderful time.
Along with the Deadliest Catch stars, another pair of TV stars will be joining the festive fun as well. Dance stars Allison and Stephen “Twitch” Boss will be completing a holiday project of their own. But instead of creating a mantle, they’ll be building a maze.
There’s Twitch and Allison, and oh, what a beautiful match,
And Sig and Mandy from Deadliest Catch.
Making new friends and building mazes and tops.
Oh, what joy the season will be at Ben’s Holiday Workshop.
While we don’t know too much more about the holiday special just yet, it seems that there will be plenty of kids that get to enjoy the maze and perhaps even hang their stockings on the Deadliest Catch stars’ mantle.
‘Deadliest Catch’ Stars Welcome New Member of the Family
Filming for the new holiday special featuring the two Deadliest Catch stars obviously took place before Mandy Hansen gave birth, as she and her husband Clark Pederson welcomed the new member of the crab fishing family on November 10. Their little girl, Sailor Marie Pederson, came into the world at 8:24 p.m.
In an interview with People, the Deadliest Catch star shared the inspiration of her newborn daughter’s name.
“We wanted something that reflects our family’s Scandinavian heritage as well as our lifestyle and profession,” Hansen said. “With my husband and I both working on the Bering Sea of Alaska as commercial crab fishermen, naming our daughter Sailor Marie is a perfect fit.”
She also reflected on how her children have changed her life.
“Every way you think changes the moment you hold your baby and you instantly know nothing is more important than protecting their life,” she shared. “It took a long week in the hospital but we can finally introduce Sailor Marie to our world.”
