As details continue to surface about Katey Sagal being struck by a car in Los Angeles last week, it has been revealed the driver of the vehicle that hit her did not stop to help afterward.
A law enforcement source reportedly shared with TMZ that while Katey Sagal was in a crosswalk, a Tesla didn’t see the Sons of Anarchy star and tagged while making a left turn. The sources also told the media outlet that the driver of the Tesla did not stop to help Sagal. She was transported to a local hospital and treated for her injuries.
TMZ further revealed that law enforcement did not issue any citations and no arrests have been made. No alcohol or drugs were involved in the incident as well. The accident is currently under investigation.
Following the incident, Katey Sagal’s husband took to Instagram to let her fans know that he’s picking her up from the hospital… in a joking manner. “She’s the only one bringing in money right now… so I’ll be picking her up from the hospital later, taking her to that Dancing With the Stars audition. #fingerscrossed🤞.”
Katey Sagal is known for her roles on Married… With Children, Sons of Anarchy, and Futurama, She was also in Smart House, Dirty Dancing (2017), and Pitch Perfect 2. Most recently, she joined the cast of The Connors. She now plays the wife of Dan Conner.
Katey Sagal Looks Back on Her Most Well-Known Roles
During an April 2021 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Katey Sagal discussed her most well-known roles throughout her career. “Some of the biggest challenges I’ve had is when I was trying to cross over into more dramatic roles. AS I never thought I was funny.”
Katey Sagal also admitted she still doesn’t think she’s that funny. “Everybody would always want me to be in these comedic roles. But for me, you just want to keep doing different things.”
Although she is now in her fifth decade in Hollywood, Katey Sagal stated that the biggest comment she gets is usually about her still working. “I’ve started to say it myself sometimes. I’m like, ‘Wow, this is so great that I’m able to continue to be a working actor and still be interested in the roles that I’m getting to play.’ I feel very grateful about that.”
In regards to taking on the role in Son of Anarchy, Katey Sagal said the experience opened up opportunity. “It opened up creativity as well,” Sagal shared. She then added that Sons fans don’t exactly look like what she thinks Sons fans are going to look like. “I’ll get PTS moms who love Sons. And I’ll be like, ‘Wow, that’s great!’ Sons was basically a family drama.”
