Jase Robertson, one of the stars of “Duck Dynasty” shared some pretty great news with his fans via social media on Monday (March 1).
On his Instagram account, Jase posted a video of his daughter, Mia, talking about the positive work the family’s foundation, Mia Moo, is doing. According to its website, the foundation is “dedicated to raising awareness and funds towards treatments of cleft lip and palate.”
“Wow, our first newsletter went out Sept. 30 and since then we have raised over $103,000. Thank you so much!” Mia excitedly said in the video. “With this money we can help about 20 families. Let’s keep this going so we can help even more because every kid deserves a smile.”
The phrase “because every kid deserves a smile” is the foundation’s go-to statement. It is very fitting for the work it is doing.
The website also states that Mia Moo wants “to make sure that each and every child born with a cleft lip or palate receives the best possible medical care, regardless of his or her financial situation. Ultimately, we desire to bring children throughout the country endless support and dedicated love through your donations, and more.”
Jase Robertson Talks About Foundation, Mia’s Upcoming Surgery
Jase Robertson added a caption to accompany Mia’s video update on Monday. In the caption, he talked about the creation of the Mia Moo Foundation.
“In 2014 a 10-year-old Mia asked me and @missyduckwife, ‘how can we help other cleft kids?’ The @miamoofund was born,” Jase posted.
Jase also shared an update on Mia’s upcoming surgery via Instagram.
“On March 17th, Mia will have her next (hopefully last) major surgery. Because of her inspiration, many children have been helped. We covet and are grateful for your prayers and support!” he added.

Mia and her message about the Mia Moo Foundation were a big hit with Instagram users on Monday. The post had been viewed more than 58,000 times by 11 p.m. that evening. It had also received more than 100 comments. The comments included praise for Mia and the foundation, love for the Robertson family, as well as the prayers Jase Robertson requested.
