On Friday, Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson posted a series of adorable photos that marked her newborn’s first trip to the beach.
Robertson and her husband, Christian Huff, recently spent some time out of town. The getaway is their baby girl Honey James Huff’s first time feeling the beach sand and ocean water. The special family vacation is definitely one to remember for their little family.
On May 11, Sadie and Christian welcomed the new addition to their world. Honey almost went a week past her due date before she was born. The couple’s first child weighed in at 9 pounds and 5 ounces as she became the newest member of the Duck Dynasty family. However, Honey wasn’t alone. She was the second baby to be born into the Robertson family within a month. Sadie’s brother John Luke Robertson and his wife, Mary Kate, welcomed their second child in mid-April, another baby girl named Ella.
Sadie and Christian are often seen with her family on their social media posts. But at least in this series of four beach pictures, it’s just herself, her husband, and their little baby.
“First time to put her little toes in the sand and for daddy to show her where he’s from. 🙂 Pure sweetness,” Robertson wrote on Instagram.
‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Explains Story Behind Her Daughter’s Name
While some may be wondering about Sadie Robertson‘s name choice for her baby, the Duck Dynasty star is well aware of the curiosity. On April 23, she explained to her Instagram fans and followers why she chose the name.
“Gracious words are like HONEY, sweetness to the soul and health to the body. Proverbs 16:24,” Sadie posted on Instagram.
The passage is from a favorite Bible verse of Robertson’s and helps explain Honey’s first name. She also shared more details about the verse and its meaning pertaining to her child.
“I’ve always loved this verse,” she continued. “It made me have a love for the idea of all that honey is. It’s a sweet delicacy with a strong healing component. When Christian and I started dating, we went through the book of Proverbs together, and I remember getting to chapter 16, and as I read verse 24, I said to him, ‘you have words like honey. They are so sweet and are healing places in my heart I didn’t even know needed to be healed.’”
Sadie Robertson and Christian Huff got married back in 2019. But the origin of Honey’s name even predates their marriage. The name stems from the couple’s first date. In addition, Honey’s name is connected to Robertson’s great grandmother as well, making it that much more special.
“On our first date, we went to do pottery together, and on my cup, I simply wrote ‘honey’ because I called him the boy with the honey words,” she shared in another Instagram post. “Fast forward 2 and a half years later, and we have a daughter on the way who we so proudly get to name after one of the loveliest words. Not to mention this word reminds me of my great-grandma, who calls everyone she loves honey.”
