Actor and former WWE star Dwayne Johnson, AKA “The Rock,” would like to remind everybody that he’s a bit of a country boy at heart.
The star took to his Instagram last night to share an update on his fishing adventures from the weekend. Johnson recorded himself out in the water “in my neck of the woods, here in God’s country,” on Saturday. In the video, he says he’s trying to keep his voice down only to soon be interrupted by a loud, obnoxious train horn. The ironic timing is too perfect.
“Got my trolling motor on silent mode, stealth mode,” Dwayne Johnson continues in a hushed tone. “Coming up on this cove. There’s a 12-pound bass up underneath that overhang. Think it’s time. I’m gonna catch her. She got a big old belly on her too, beautiful.”
The star also confessed, “And if I don’t catch her, well, I’m gonna say I did. I’ll tell you guys about it. Enjoy your Saturday.”
When Dwayne Johnson posted the video to his Instagram, he added the caption, “She put up a helluva fight but eventually, she surrendered to big daddy… At least that’s my story and I’m sticking to it,” The Rock wrote. “Enjoy your weekend, my friends.”
It’s up to you whether you believe Johnson actually caught the bass or not. We’ll give him the benefit of the doubt, for now at least.
But fishing isn’t the only country thing Dwayne Johnson’s been up to this week. Earlier, he posted a selfie featuring a heavily chalked hand and workout gear in the background. “Training in the barn. Country stuff,” Johnson captioned the post.
Dwayne Johnson Dives into the ‘Evolution of the Bull’ Tatoo
Dwayne Johnson’s legendary tattoos hold a more special meaning than most people realize. Especially his first-ever tattoo, which he got back in the late 1990s before a WWE match. The Brahma Bull tattoo has since undergone two “evolutions,” changing just as Johnson’s grown and changed over the years.
Recently, Johnson posted an incredible video explaining the journey of the “Evolution of the Bull.” This video dives into the tattoo artist who worked with Johnson and what the new tattoo represents for the star. Venezuelan artist Yomico Moreno traded designs back and forth with Johnson for a year before they finally settled on something they both liked.
Dwayne Johnson found his inspiration on a family vacation to his homeland, Hawai’i.
“I got up every morning and spent time looking at the ocean,” Johnson said. “The waves are powerful, they are perpetual. That’s when it inspired me that that’s what the tattoo needed. It need the anchoring element that was really gonna give it that power and that protection.”
