Gwen Stefani is bringing Christmas to us early this year with the release of her new single. “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” just dropped today. She wants fans to know this is not a comeback, she’s been around for years, to quote LL Cool J.
The vibe of the song is definitely something of that of Stefani’s solo artist days. The beat is nice and easy and combines ska and reggae, the style of music Stefani originally started with.
In the first verse, she says that she’s been organic from day one, giving us her true self from day one. The singer even cites one of her hits “Bananas” by calling it out in her new single.

“Let Me Reintroduce Myself” lyric video also dropped on Youtube today. Listen below:
“Binge on my music for days ’cause I’ve been here for years / Not a comeback (Oh), I’m recycling me / It’s not a comeback (Oh), you feel that new enеrgy,” Stefani sings. The pop icon later makes a nod towards her hit single “Hollaback Girl.”
The pop star also hits on 2020. She mentions getting refocused and seeing “in color like new crayons.” The lyrics also talk about being happy and smiling. Perhaps this is what Stefani wants people to take away from her song. Even though this year has been a challenging one, she wants people to be happy with this light-hearted tune.
“Let me re, let re-introduce myself / Case you forgot no I’m not records on your shelf / I’m still the original-original old me,” the chorus says.
Stefani seems to say that she can’t be constrained to her past music, because of the self-awareness she’s found since those days. Rather she’s a combination of her original and new self.
Stefani is rebranding herself in a way to include all the experiences that she’s gone through since her No Doubt and solo days.
The thumbnail for the video shows what the 51-year-old has been teasing on social media leading up to the release. Stefani can still rock her iconic white crop-top and rhinestones. However, she also wants fans to know that she can combine her newfound love for western wear with her signature style.
