“You guys give up? Or are you thirsty for more?”

When it comes to revivals, remakes, and reimaginings of old classic movies, TV shows, or even books, more seems to be merrier.

Now, the classic 1990 comedy film “Home Alone,” directed by Chris Columbus and written by John Hughes, is getting an all-new makeover. The original cast of the movie was Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, John Heard, and Catherine O’Hara. The story follows a young, mischievous kid named Kevin as he is accidentally left home alone while his family travels from Chicago to Paris.

‘Home Alone’ Gets Reimagined

One movie was never enough for this franchise. The film is often considered one of the greatest Christmas films of all time. It was shortly followed by “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” which seemed like common sense to create.

Now fans of the classic movie can experience “Home Sweet Home Alone” on Disney+. According to Deadline, the revival will appear on the streaming platform on November 12. So, what is the revival exactly?

The project is led by Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, and Archie Yates as the top cast members. It is directed by Dan Mazer.

Yates plays Max Mercer, the reimagined version of Kevin McCallister. Similar to the OG “Home Alone” character, Mercer is left home alone during the holidays. He then must use his sharp whit and resourceful edge to keep his home safe from trespassers.

Also in the film are Aisling Bea, Kenan Thompson, Pete Holmes, Devin Ratray, Ally Maki, and Chris Parnell. This is actually the sixth installment in the franchise and is joining the first two films, “Home Alone 3,” “Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House,” and “Home Alone: The Holiday Heist.”

The remake is circulating a bit of controversy right now. Fans of the original movie are mostly just confused as to why a classic is getting reimagined. “Do we really need this? The original is a classic. Between the actors, the director, and the incredible score….what can you improve on, other than Disney trying to $$$$ out on a known name,” one Twitter user wrote.

Future Remakes and Reboots

If you love to see refreshes of old titles, or you hate to love them, Disney+ is reimagining other Fox movies like “Cheaper By the Dozen,” “Night at the Museum,” and “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.”

Other than Fox productions, there’s plenty of reboots, remakes, and spin-offs to go around.

According to Insider, very popular movies “Dune” and “Clueless” are both getting remade into TV shows instead. One highly-anticipated revival is “Sex and the City,” seeing as most of the original cast is returning, excluding Kim Cattrall.

Other projects to look out for are “Rugrats,” “Dexter,” “Bewitched,” “Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies,” and eventually a “The Walking Dead” spin-off.
