‘Jeopardy!’ Final Clue Quizzes Contestants on Movie Title Knowledge

As it has for several decades, Jeopardy! continues its mission to stimulate minds around the world with interesting facts.

During Friday’s episode, the game came down to Final Jeopardy! with each of the contestants closely matched.

Current guest host Anderson Cooper reveals the Final Jeopardy! category to be Movie Title Characters. Contestants on the show begin making their wagers while hoping the clue lies within their realm of knowledge. Jeopardy! took the clue to their social media page to see if at-home players could come with the correct answer.

“The Final Jeopardy! is all about Movie Title Character,” the tweet says in the caption.

‘Jeopardy!’ Asks Fans to Solve Final Jeopardy! Clue

The clue asks contests to name a character from a 2012 film and gives the character’s appointed last name.

“In this 2012 film set just before the Civil War, a German dentist declares that the title character’s surname is Freeman,” the clue states. Think you know the correct answer to the clue?

“What is Django Unchained?” is the correct response to the clue.

Django Unchained is a 2012 film by director Quentin Tarantino that did quite well at the box office. The movie stars Jamie Foxx as the titular character “Django Freeman” and Christoph Waltz as the German dentist. The movie’s plot revolves around Foxx’s character escaping from a slavery plantation with the German dentist’s assistance. Django and the dentist then travel to another plantation in hopes of finding the former’s wife. The movie also stars Samuel L. Jackson and Leonardo DiCaprio. The film did very well at the box office, raking in well over $400 million in sales.

Speaking of doing well, Jeopardy! guest host Anderson Cooper has drawn positive reviews for his performance on the quiz show. His appearance has also been profitable for his charity by raising more than $100,000 in only a week’s worth of work. Cooper will remain the Jeopardy! guest host through all of next week with next Friday’s episode his last. Journalist Bill Whitaker will then take over hosting duties and will also receive a two-week term on the show. Upon completion of Whitaker’s tenure, Jeopardy! will enter into its yearly Tournament of Champions for the following two weeks. Former contestant and Alex Trebek favorite, Buzzy Cohen, will handle hosting responsibilities for the tournament.
