Ken Jennings and James Holzhauer proved to be pretty iconic standing next to each other behind their respective “Jeopardy!” podiums.
The two are game show legends in their own right. Jennings won 74 consecutive episodes when he was on the show in 2004 and he also was one of the many guest hosts recently.
Meanwhile, Holzhauer had a 32-game streak during his appearance on the show in 2019. The duo appeared together in the Greatest of All Time Tournament, as well as several other appearances on the show. They even appeared on ABC’s “The Chase” together.
As it seems, the two just can’t seem to get away from each other. It seems like there’s been a bit of a “genius ‘Jeopardy!’ champions” friendship that has cultivated. The two jokingly poked fun at each other while sitting together at a Seattle Mariners game.
Holzhauer posted a selfie of the two with the caption, “48000 seats at T-Mobile and I had to pick this one.” Kennings then had to have the last word and clapped back with, “You buy a ticket in the ‘Game Show Dad’ section, you take your chances.”
A fan of the two then recounted his own funny encounter with Ken Jennings. They wrote, “I went to take a pic with Ken and I go ‘can I be annoying for 2 seconds’ and he said ‘sure but not to me’ and it honestly was a better interaction than any picture would have been.”
Holzhauer is in his element at the sporting event. He recently was announced as a new part of the writing staff at The Atlantic that specifically focuses on sports betting.
The ‘Jeopardy!’ Alums
When it comes to the top faces in the world of “Jeopardy!” it can really be narrowed down to three people — Ken Jennings, James Holzhauer, and Brad Rutter.
The three appeared on “The Chase” together and took on Mark “The Beast” Labbett. It was quite the experience with four of television’s biggest brainiacs all uniting. In many ways, it was yet another subtle test to see who the ultimate GOAT of “Jeopardy!” truly is.
In fact, TV Insider currently has a poll up to determine who the favorite alum is from the show. The question is “Which ‘Jeopardy!’ alum on ‘The Chase’ is your favorite?”
James Holzhauer is leading right now with 865 votes, Ken Jennings has 505 votes, and Brad Rutter has 435.
While Holzhauer seems to be leading on “The Chase,” Ken Jennings could possibly be selected as the future full-time host of “Jeopardy!” The show is set to choose a replacement by the end of summer before filming for the next season begins.
Jennings said in a recent interview that his “fingers are crossed” that he will be selected by the crew. Each guest host has a chance of potentially getting that call to offer what many would consider a dream job.
