Earlier today, the country Americana phenom Kacey Musgraves gave her fans a sneak peek of her upcoming appearance on Sesame Street. In a Twitter post, she shared several photos of her posing with several of the classic characters. Clad in a baby blue pea coat and a matching hat, she posed with all of the Sesame Street favorites from Elmo to Oscar the Grouch.
“See you on the Street,” Musgraves says in the post. She later posted a separate picture of her looking up adoringly at Big Bird with “Big Bird Energy” as the caption.
In her hashtag, Kacey Musgraves hints that she will appear on Season 52 of the classic kid’s television show. This, however, will not be Kacey’s first appearance. Back in May of this year, she and rapper Lil Nas X performed on the pilot episode of Elmo’s Not-Too-Late Show. Musgraves performed the “Rubber Ducky” song while Lil Nas X performed “Elmo’s Song” with Elmo.

The Sesame Street Muppets aren’t the only ones teaming up with Kacey Musgraves this holiday season. Last week, Musgraves teamed up with Australian musician, Troye Sivan for a new single. The song, titled “Easy,” explores some of Nashville’s darker secrets.
The content of the song is fairly somber, however, Kacey Musgraves and Troye Sivan singing together is nothing less than gorgeous. The two trade verses with Sivan going first. His first lines set the somber mood. “You ran away to find something to say, I went astray to make it okay, and he made it easy, darlin’,” he sings.
Kacey Musgraves goes on to take the second verse, opening with yet another somewhat depressing one-liner. “I’m not a saint, so just give me the blame. We knew what was under the surface and lived like it wouldn’t hurt us,” she responds. Finally, the pair come together for the chorus. “This house is on fire/Burning the tears right out my face, what the hell did we do? Tell me we’ll make it through.”
The beautifully sad single has sparked many of Kacey Musgrave’s fans to call for a new album. Unfortunately, she has ignored their requests, saying “2020 doesn’t deserve a new album,” and honestly, who can disagree.
