Earlier in the summer, ZZ Top bass-player Dusty Hill passed away. His death caused tons of artists such as Kid Rock to extend their thoughts and sympathies. The rocker from Michigan has been close with the ZZ Top guys for quite some time. He showed that friendship further by posting a new photo featuring himself and Billy Gibbons.
As the fusion of rock and country and hip hop, Kid Rock is an enigma. His fashion, music, and attitude have defined him in his career. So, the photo he posted made perfect sense. He is playing pool with Billy Gibbons and playing a little air guitar on his cue. It looks like he might have just taken the game over his mentor and friend.
Just two guys hanging out at a bar and shooting pool. Not much better than that. Rock captioned his post, “Just shootin’ some pool with my rock n roll dad. What ya’ll [sic] up to? -Kid Rock.”
Who knows what two guys like Rock and Gibbons talk about over a game of pool. Perhaps a couple of beers thrown in the mix and some tunes playing on the jukebox. One thing is for sure, Gibbons still has unreal style, wherever he goes. He just has himself put together in the best threads any time he is seen in public. It is really great to see the two together following Hill’s passing.
Kid Rock Road Frustrations
While Kid Rock isn’t going around touring dozens of dates and venues in the next few months, he had scheduled a modest set of dates. However, already he has fallen into issues and had to cancel shows. Back in July, the music star played at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and entertained thousands hat were in attendance for the event. Then, he had planned a small circuit of shows. That included shows being played at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, Texas. However, those were not meant to be.
After playing a couple of shows at the Fort Worth venue in the middle of August, Kid Rock planned to return to the venue for more. Those shows did not happen. In fact, the singer was so frustrated by the situation he took to social media to vent. He said that “unforeseen circumstances” had caused the band to cancel the shows. It just so happened, despite many members being vaccinated, there was a bit of a COVID outbreak among the members. Rock himself did not test positive for the virus.
So, now there are three more events on the schedule this year. The OC Bikefest in Ocean City, Maryland on September 18th and then two shows in Nevada. Those Nevada shows will take place on October 15th and 16th. Hopefully, Kid Rock and his band are able to remain healthy and fans enjoy those shows.
