With upcoming shows being canceled due to being positive COVID-19, Kid Rock went on a Twitter rant. Despite “many” being vaccinated, half of Kid Rock’s band has contracted the virus. The upcoming shows were scheduled to take place at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, Texas.
Throughout the rant, the rockstar made it clear how upset he is with having to cancel the shows. His band, the Twisted Brown Trucker, consists of 12 members including the famous frontman. While typing his rant, he mentioned that “many” of the band members are vaccinated but still contracted the virus.
“I am pissed. Over half the band has fucking covid (not me), and before u s**t for brains bloggers and media trolls run your mouths, many of them, like me, have been vaccinated,” Kid Rock’s initial tweet read. While the shows are canceled, he tried to make a case for playing without his band. “I was gonna come and rock the house anyway, play acoustic, DJ, or even just Juggle,” he said.
Clearly, this was not a decision that Kid Rock himself had made, but he made sure to drive the point home. In the second tweet, he said, “s**t is way out of my hands on this one. I am beyond upset and you real ones know I would never cancel if I absolutely didn’t have too [sic]. For this, I am sorry.”
Kid Rock Tour Stopped Short
While the tour is still ongoing, the cancellation of shows comes early for Kid Rock and his band. With the Delta variant raging across America, it is becoming difficult for some acts to play shows. It was just two days ago when he posted about the first few shows of the tour being a success and thanking fans.
One tweet from Tuesday read, “On the road again! Wow, I think all who have been to the first few shows, of the only few shows we are doing this year, can testify that our community is of the strongest out there without question.” However, a couple of days later and the brakes have already been put on.
After playing at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Kid Rock went on to play a couple of shows in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and last week he played a pair of shows at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, Texas. He had two more shows scheduled at that venue this weekend, but as mentioned above those will not happen.
There are just three more dates on the schedule. One in Ocean City, Maryland on the 18th. Then to finish up, two shows in Nevada on October 15th and 16th.
Hopefully, the band members affected will have speedy recoveries.
