Christopher Meloni of “Law & Order: Organized Crime” is known to share his wisdom at different moments with fans of the popular show.
Meloni, who came back to the “Law & Order” franchise as Detective Elliot Stabler, took to Twitter on Sunday and dropped some dope words to ponder.
Never let it be said that Meloni is looking to become the world’s next great philosopher. Fans of “Law & Order: Organized Crime,” though, are just happy to have him on their TV screens.
Stabler has to deal yet again with criminal Richard Wheatley, played by Dylan McDermott, as the second season is underway. Wheatley is still in jail for the murder of Stabler’s wife.
This storyline is just one of many on the NBC police drama. The show airs on Thursdays at 10 p.m. Eastern, 9 p.m. Central. It has a pretty solid lead-in as “Law & Order: SVU,” starring Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T, airs and it’s in Season 23.
“Law & Order: Organized Crime” has a definite advantage over other shows in the franchise. It is anchored by Meloni, who developed quite a following during his time on “SVU.”
In fact, some crossover audiences might take in both shows. Longtime fans also know that there’s been some romantic energy between Hargitay’s Sergeant Olivia Benson and Stabler.
Will something happen this season between them to finally give fans a reason to believe? Well, the message probably for them is to stay tuned.
‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Star Spends Time On Screen With Mariska Hargitay
But there is a glimmer of hope thanks to a crossover. Both of them shared time together on “Law & Order: Organized Crime.”
In an interview promoting Season 2, Meloni said that upon his departure from “Law & Order: SVU,” fans were left heartbroken.
Meloni said “there’s a certain amount of familiarity” since fans love both characters dating back to his “SVU” days.
“I think there is a sense of being something being unresolved of how I left the SVU franchise,” he also said.
“To start the season with the SVU and OC together, it just seems natural to me,” Meloni said. “It’s like gin and tonic. I always like jumping onto the SVU squad and playing with Mariska and the new gang over there.”
Dylan McDermott Still Part Of Show, But Stabler Is Now Focusing on Albanian Case
The second season finds Stabler being part of an Albanian mob as he goes undercover. This goes well for a bit until he gets caught up in a police arrest.
Some fans might want to know if Dylan McDermott, who was Stabler’s antagonist as Richard Wheatley in Season 1, would be part of this season.
Meloni said he’s “just kind of alive” in Season 2.
In his undercover role, it is all on Stabler to discover what’s going down with the Albanians’ illicit drug trade.
