Country superstar Carrie Underwood recently sat down for an exclusive interview where she amusingly admitted she rarely has date nights with her husband.
Underwood joined Entertainment Tonight to discuss her athletic gear brand CALIA, and how important staying healthy is for all. During her conversation though, the singer opened up about her life with husband Mike Fisher. The couple live busy lives, with each being involved with multiple businesses. Plus they have two young kids together, so their household is a busy one.
Unfortunately for the couple, they don’t get to spend as much one-on-one time together as they’d like. In addition, Underwood hilariously admits it’s her fault. From her perspective, why dress up and go out if you can just stay home and cook dinner and lounge around with your family?
“We rarely have date nights, and it’s all my fault because I’m like, ‘Man, then I’m going to have to put on jeans or something, and I don’t want to,'” Carrie Underwood joked to Entertainment Tonight. “And also, I would rather just make dinner for the family and us eat there.”
The country star gave the interview just before Fisher’s 41st birthday over the weekend. She shared that they’d likely go out together, and said they should more often. We can indeed confirm their date night went ahead as planned.
“I’m probably going to take him out for a date night, which is rare,” she added. “I know we should do it more often, but, you know.”
Carrie Underwood Wishes Husband Mike Fisher Happy Birthday
While the Nashville power couple may not have too many date nights, they at least hit the town over the weekend. On Saturday, Carrie Underwood shared a sweet Twitter post in honor of her husband Mike Fisher‘s birthday.
Fisher, a former NHL star for the Ottawa Senators and Nashville Predators, celebrated his 41st birthday. The Nashville-based couple ventured out for dinner together to ring in his born day on June 5th. While she didn’t share any other details about their evening, Underwood did give her more than eight million Twitter followers a sneak peek of their dinner.
Underwood posted a personal photo of Fisher getting ready to dig into his birthday dessert. The former hockey player is smiling ear to ear as one single candle shines bright on the side of his slice of tiramisu.
“Celebrating this amazing human and his 41 trips around the sun! I love you Mike Fisher and I thank God for blessing us so. Here’s to whatever comes next!” Carrie Underwood tweeted.
The country singer and hockey star have been together for more than a decade at this point. The happy couple got married back in July 2010, and share two young children together.
Carrie Underwood delivered their first son, Isaiah, in February 2015. Additionally, she gave birth to another little boy named Jacob in January 2019. As Underwood said on Saturday night, she’s also ready for “whatever comes next” for the couple.
