While 2020 seems like it may last forever, the year is almost up. Despite the uncertainties and global pandemic, Carrie Underwood is thankful for the time spent with her husband Mike Fisher and two boys.
Like the rest of the world, country music was thrown into chaos back in March. Due to COVID-19, concerts across the country came to a screeching halt. And country music stars, used to living like nomads in tour buses, found themselves at home longer than they’ve been in years.
Carrie Underwood has spent that time focusing on her family.
“Honestly, I think at the end of the day it’s getting to be home and getting to be in one place,” Underwood told CMT. “Usually, we’re so go, go, go. And there’s so much travel and there are so many shows and there’s just lots of reasons to go. Which I’m good at. I like to do what I do. And at the beginning of 2020, it was confusing. Like, ’Now how do we do this? I’ve never been in one place this long before.’”
Underwood continued, describing watching her children grow. She said, “But then it was like, ’Wow, I’ve never been in one place this long before.’ I got to watch my children grow: my oldest son is going to be six in February, my youngest son is going to be two in January. That is time I cannot get back. Years from now, I feel like I’m going to look back on 2020 and be like, first, what a mess. But second, I got to spend that year at home, watching my boys grow up and I can’t get this time back.”
Carrie Underwood Has Spent Time on the Farm
One way life has slowed down for Underwood is spending time on her Tennessee farm. The country singer has finally found the time to stop and smell the flowers, literally. Gardening has been one of the hobbies Underwood took up to past the time. And she enjoyed getting to be outside in nature.
There’s also plenty of time to take of the farm’s animals including the horses, chickens, and two recently added cows. Underwood has even enlisted the help of her boys, Isaiah and Jacob, to help feed the farm’s growing animal population. So far the country singer has enjoyed the seclusion.
Still, despite being home, Underwood managed to tie for ACM Entertainer of the Year and release a No.1 Christmas album.
