The forever-iconic, always-stunning Carrie Underwood shook up her look on Wednesday when she showed off a distinct change.
In the current still-getting-out-of-pandemic climate, we don’t blame anyone for changing their look. Whether you’re cooped up in the house or just eager for things to feel new and fresh, switching things up is a classic decision.
Just ask Carrie Underwood. The country music icon is making literal waves with her new changes posted on Instagram. Trading in her straightened, classic look, Underwood shared the new curves and blonde highlights. And we’ll be honest, they suit her pretty dang well.

In the photo, Underwood explains the build to her new hair. Her caption reads:
“Some brighter blonde by @marissamartinhair @parlour3beauty. Waves are allll mine.”
After a little bit of research, Parlour 3 is a Nashville-based hair salon, with Marissa Martin being a stylist at the establishment. Unsurprisingly, Underwood didn’t stray far from Nashville to get her new style.
Carrie Underwood Recounts First Visit to Nashville
Speaking of Nashville, we recently got to hear the story of Underwood’s first visit to the Music City. These days, Carrie and Nashville go together like peanut butter and jelly, but the Oklahoma-born star didn’t always have that distinct connection.
In an interview with Sirius XM, the 37-year-old explained her first time in Nashville, at the tender age of 10-years-old. Or so.
“I first came to visit Nashville when I was like 10 years old and I loved it,” Underwood said. “Yeah, I was a baby and we had a friend who was one of – she was kind of a friend of the family and she would push as well to like, get me to sing places.”
Carrie goes on to say that it led to several connections and interactions with key players in the country music industry.
“So I definitely had a lot of people in my life that were like, ‘You’re pretty good,’” Underwood said. “Like, ‘Let’s go try -,’ you know, ‘You should sing here! Sing in this theater thing. Go here and sing for these people.”
“And so it was like getting connected through other people to do things. And we just came for a visit and we visited like the Country Music Hall of Fame and we saw the Ryman (Auditorium, the original home of the Grand Ole Opry). I didn’t get to go in but we saw it.”
Whenever a television channel wants to buy the rights to Underwood’s childhood, consider us on board. We’d love to see a young Carrie navigating Nashville.
