Not only is he celebrating Independence Day on Sunday (July 4th), country superstar Chris Janson is also toasting another year of marriage with his wife, Kelly Janson. The couple tied the knot today in 2010.
During a recent interview with Warner Music Nashville, Chris Janson reveals his wedding anniversary is on the Fourth of July. “Who wants to work six months to get married? I mean, whatever, we didn’t have time for doing that,” Chris states.
Chris Janson also recalls that he was working a lot during the time and he could just never stop. “So we just decided, well, July fourth is coming up, that be kind of cool to have it out on the farm with fireworks. So that’s what we did. We got married on the Fourth of July. So that’s an easy holiday to remember.”
Chris Janson also took to his Instagram to celebrate the anniversary. “11 years of marriage has literally gotten better since day one. Damn it is great. I love you @thekellyjanson happy anniversary.”
Chris and Kelly Janson Talks Marriage and ‘Done’ Music Video With CMT
In a 2019 interview with CMT, Chris Janson and his wife Kelly shares details about their song “Done.” During the chat, Janson states there’s no one else he wants to sing the song with. “It had to be Kelly,” Chris explains. “There was never any hesitancy on that. I would never put my hands or eyes on another woman. I just wouldn’t make a video otherwise.”
Kelly Janson did admit that it felt a bit awkward rolling around in bed and dancing in the middle of the room for the song’s music video. She also spoke about her love for Chris. “He is the most thoughtful human ever. He still leaves notes by my bed or on my pillow if he’s gone for the day.”
In regards to his feelings about marriage, Chris Janson goes on to add, “You only get to be married once. That’s it. So you better do it good.”
Chris Janson Releases Stripped Down Acoustics
Along with celebrating his anniversary, Chris Janson is also celebrating his latest album Stripped Down Acoustics. The album features four of Janson’s acoustic songs that were recorded at the Acuff House in Nashville. The songs included in the release are from Chris’ Real Friends album.
Speaking about the album, Janson says, “Performing songs in an acoustic setting is how most of the songs I write begin. I am excited to present these tracks the way they were initially created.”
Chris Janson’s Stripped Down Acoustics track listing is “Waitin’ on 5,” “Done,” “Beer Me,” and “Hawaii on Me.” The album was released last month.
