Country music singer, songwriter, producer, and superstar Brantley Gilbert turns 35 today. Gilbert hit the country music scene over a decade ago. Since then, he has been making hits, winning awards, and selling out shows. He has written some of the biggest hits in modern country music. In short, Gilbert has plenty to celebrate today.

In celebration of Brantley Gilbert’s birthday, we’re looking back at some of the star’s biggest career moments.

Brantley Gilbert Releases “A Modern Day Prodigal Son”

Brantley Gilbert first released his debut album “A Modern Day Prodigal Son” in 2005. Originally, he self-released the album on a limited scale. It only contained the first eleven songs. Four years later, Gilbert signed to Colt Ford’s Average Joes Entertainment and re-re-released the album nationally.

The album didn’t produce any singles nor did it perform well on the charts. However, the track “My Kinda Party” would go on to be a hit for Jason Aldean. In 2010, Aldean used the song as the lead single and title track of his fourth studio album.

Even though “A Modern Day Prodigal Son” didn’t perform as well as his other releases, it introduced Brantley Gilbert to the world. It also established him as a songwriter.

Chart Success

Before leaving Average Joes and going to Valory Music, Brantley Gilbert recorded his second album “Halfway to Heaven.” He would re-release the album upon moving to Valory. It was with the re-release that Gilbert saw real chart success.

The first two singles from the album, “Country Must Be Country Wide” and “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do” both went to number one on the Hot Country Songs chart.

In 2014, Brantley Gilbert released his second album through Valory in 2014. “Just as I Am,” spawned the singer’s third and fourth number-one hits. Both “Bottoms Up” and “One Hell of an Amen” climbed to the top of the Hot Country Songs chart. The album hit number one on Billboard’s Country Albums chart. It was the number five album of the year.

Awards and Accolades

Shortly after his first release on Valory, Brantley Gilbert received the first of his awards. In 2012, “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do” took home the ACA for Breakthrough Artist Single of the Year.

“Dirt Road Anthem,” “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,” and “Country Must Be Country Wide” took the CMA Triple Play Award the next year. That year, Gilbert won the ACM Award for Top New Male Artist. “Just as I Am” won the AMA for Favorite Country Album.

Brantley Gilbert’s Personal Success

In 2015 Brantley Gilbert married Amber Cochran in a private ceremony. She was the inspiration for the songs “More Than Miles” and “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do.” The couple has two children.

Gilbert has a career marked by success and a happy, healthy family. That’s all you need, at the end of the day. Here’s hoping Brantley and his loved ones are having a little small town throwdown of their own today.
