Jason Aldean posted an emotional tribute on the third anniversary of the Route 91 Festival shooting.
What Jason Aldean Had to Say
It’s been three years since country music fans were in Las Vegas when a mass shooting occurred. One of the headliners, Jason Aldean, who was on stage when the shooting began, wrote a touching tribute to his “Route 91 family.”
“Hard to believe it’s been 3 years since Route 91,” he wrote on Thursday (October 1). “That night was probably the worst night of our lives and not a day goes by that we don’t think about the people who lost their lives and the families who have forever been affected by it.” He also shared a picture of a memorial set up after the shooting took place.
“October 1st will always be a day for us that is extremely hard to relive, he added. “To everyone in the Route 91 family, we love u guys and we couldn’t have gotten through it without you. #CountryStrong #Route91family #VegasStrong.”

Response From Fans
Fans replied to his post with love, support, and their own tales from that night. One fan named Dan shared a photo from that night right before he was about to take the stage.
Countless fans replied asking why more country music stars aren’t speaking out about gun control. Especially after the tragic events at that country music festival.
Celebrities React and Memorial
A sunrise memorial took place today. “Amazing Grace” while a slideshow of those who were killed played on the screen. In total, fifty eight people lost their lives that day.

Countless other celebrities paid tribute to those who lost their lives. Jimmy Kimmel shared a heartbreaking post and asked for change in the Senate.
“Three years ago today, 60 people lost their lives in my hometown of Las Vegas,” he tweeted. “Republican “leaders” in the Senate have done everything they can to do nothing about it. Honor their memory by making sure this doesn’t happen in your hometown. http://everytown.org #VegasStrong“
Chris Young, who was a performer during the festival, also paid tribute.
“3 years ago today was a night i was a part of and I’ll never forget,” he wrote. “Let’s take the next 58 seconds to pause and remember the 58 lives lost that day. #VegasStrong“
