Country music singer Jessie James Decker says that her two-and-a-half-year-old son Forrest Bradley has been diagnosed with asthma.
The popular country singer recently shared another update with her fans on Wednesday. In a video on her Instagram Story, she announced that the breathing issues that have led to multiple hospitalizations for her son are the result of him having asthma.
“It turns out, he’s just got asthma,” she says in her story. “And it’s at the level where he needs to be doing treatments on a daily basis, so, inhaler, nebulizer, all the things, and they’re really hoping he grows out of it. So, nothing environmental, thank goodness, nothing that I could’ve done differently.”
Decker is married to former NFL wide receiver Eric Decker. In addition to Forrest, they are also parents to six-year-old daughter Vivianne and five-year-old son Eric II.
The 32-year-old country artist said that she initially had concerns about a potential allergy triggering Forrest’s breathing problems. As a result, she says she “had him tested for absolutely everything.”
“I was even worried that there was something more serious going on. And the positive news is that he wasn’t allergic to any of the things that could’ve triggered it,” she said, explaining that daughter Vivianne, “is allergic to so many different things so that can kind of run in the family.”
The “Lights Down Low” singer went on to say that Forrest’s condition is most likely genetic. Jessie James Decker has said that both she and her husband Eric have dealt with asthma in the past.
“We’re gonna stay on top of it and hopefully it’ll get better, especially with the warmer weather,” she said. “I hope he grows out of it.”
Jessie James Decker First Opens Up About Her Son’s Health in January
The mother of three first opened up about her son’s breathing issues in late January. She revealed in another Instagram post that her child had been admitted to the hospital for the third time in six weeks.
“Every time he gets a tiny cold he starts wheezing and his oxygen levels drop and heart rate goes up,” Decker wrote alongside a photo of Forrest wearing an oxygen mask. “Ultimately I’m being told he has Asthma even though he’s pretty young to diagnose.”
“It’s scary to watch his vitals drop, hear his grunting and see his chest struggling so much to take a breath,” continued Jessie, who said that Forrest was “born full-term and 9 lbs and no issues until last year and becoming more chronic.”
Jesse James Decker says she has gotten support and advice from her “fellow insta moms” on social media.
“He’s a champ but it breaks my heart when he tells me ‘mommy my chest hurts’ in his sad little voice,” she wrote. “I don’t love to post too much of this kind of stuff because my babies are precious to me. But I’ve had some amazing advice from fellow insta moms that I genuinely appreciate.”
