On Wednesday (December 1st), country singer and songwriter Keith Urban takes to his social media accounts to announce his plans to do a “The Speed of Now” tour in 2022.

“NORTH AMERICA, we’re ready to get this thing out of my back yard and onto a REAL STAGE!!!” Keith Urban declared in his post. “THE SPEED OF NOW WORLD TOUR is coming to you in 2022!”

Keith Urban also announced that he and his crew are bringing Ingrid Andress on the tour as well. “And it’s gonna be a blast.”

In a statement to Rolling Stone, Keith Urban spoke about making his debut back to live stages this upcoming year. “I’ve always considered myself a live performer first. It’s what I’ve always done and it’s what my music needs to live and breathe.”

Keith Urban also said that his shows are all about living in the moment. “They’re a total interactive and immersive experience where people can participate in whatever way they want. Sing, dance, do whatever.”

Urban’s “The Speed of Now” tour will kick off on June 17th. Among the venues that Keith Urban will be visiting in 2022 is the Midflorida Credit Union Amphitheater at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa Florida; Budweiser State in Toronto, Canada; Usana Amphitheatre in Salt Lake City, Utah; and North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, California.

Keith Urban Talks Las Vegas Resident Prior to the Worldwide Health Crisis

During a September 2021 interview with Billboard, Keith Urban spoke about his Las Vegas Residency right before the global pandemic. “I was so looking forward to ash whole year, particularly that residency in Vegas. I felt like I’d landed in the most incredible venue – The Colosseum.”

Urban then spoke about his show is different now. “We put The Speed of Now Part 1 out in September. So we’ve got a batch of songs to place into the setlist. Things like One too Many and [songs] that were still yet to come back then.”

The country singer also noted that it’s so exciting to get to play his songs live again. “I’m sure you’ve heard from many artists. It’s very strange to put a record out and have no tour to go out and play.”

When asked what he was done with the “pent-up energy” he has from not getting to play live, Urban stated that he’s been playing a lot of Zoom corporate shows. “They’ve been great and I’ve really enjoyed them. But at some point, you feel like you’re playing through the window of a nightclub to everybody outside. And I would love them all to come inside finally.”
