“What I love most about ‘American Idol’ is you never know what’s gonna walk through that door,” Luke Bryan says in the video. “You get chill bumps all over your body and it can happen at any moment when I’m at that judges’ table.”
It’s not just the talent contestants bring to “American Idol” that touches Bryan. There is something more that moves him. “Nothing is more inspiring than talent, but humility with that talent …”

Bryan previously said that his path to becoming a judge on “American Idol” was aided by country star Blake Shelton. Shelton is a judge on “The Voice” – another popular televised singing competition. Bryan has been a judge on “American Idol” since 2018.
“You said, ‘Do it,'” Bryan recently said to Blake Shelton. “I said, ‘Heck yeah, I’m going to do it.’ Man, it was like you told me. It certainly opens your eyes, opens your world up to stuff you never can imagine. Thank you for that. The world can hear me say thank you, Blake Shelton.”
During the stars’ conversation about judging the vocal competition shows, Luke Bryan shared that he especially enjoyed seeing a new performer transform into something more. “… nothing is more fun than being in the room when a star is born.”
“I mean, you got to go through hundreds of people to find that star,” Bryan added. “There was just something magical about that.”
