Country music star Reba McEntire took to social media on Thursday to share a throwback photo from her time on the set of Reba.
Today marks the 14th anniversary of the airing of the season finale of McEntire’s hit show Reba. The television sitcom spanned six seasons, airing on The WB from October of 2001 to May of 2006. It continued on The CB from November of 2006 until February 2007.
On Thursday evening, Reba shared a photo on Instagram of her alongside her fellow cast members on the set of the show.
“14 years ago today the last episode of the #Reba show aired before it saw (and continues to see) many years in syndication! McEntire wrote on Instagram. “What a journey! #ImASurvivor#tbt#throwbackthursday”
Of course, Reba is a single mom in the show who struggles with taking care of everyone in her house. All of that follows after her husband divorces her for his dental hygienist. And it won’t come as a surprise to any diehard Reba that she is often prone to sarcastic remarks.
But throughout the show, fans love Reba for her kind, caring, and sensible personality. In the first two seasons, she works as a secretary for her ex-husband’s dental rival, Eugene. As the series unfolds, Reba ends up becoming a real estate agent.
In her post, Reba McEntire includes the hashtag “I’m a Survivor.” The song, written by Shelby Kennedy and Phillip White, was the Reba theme song during its six seasons on the air.
Reba McEntire Makes Surprise Appearance in ‘Barb & Star Go to Visa Del Mar’
While country music may always be her number one passion, Reba McEntire continues to find her way onto the big screen. The star singer recently made a surprise appearance in the new comedy, Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar.
The movie now available to stream, having just released in February. It stars Kristen Wiig along with her Bridesmaid co-writer, Annie Mumolo.
Together, the comedy duo plays two midwestern best friends. However, they find themselves in a little bit of trouble after a vacation in Vista Del Mar, Florida winds up leading to more than they asked for. It is up to the country legend herself, Reba McEntire, to save the day.
Meanwhile, Reba’s fans and followers had no idea about her appearance in the comedy until they watched the film. Everyone’s favorite redhead made a surprise cameo in a new role. She plays a sea goddess named Trish.
“I know you’re going to be surprised, but this is the first time I’ve ever played a sea spirit,” she told USA Today.
On Wednesday, Reba shared a behind-the-scenes picture on Instagram of her getting ready to play the part.
