Legendary Country Music star Tim McGraw took to social media on Wednesday to honor family members in the military. McGraw posted eight photos to his Instagram account along with a few words thanking them for serving their country.

“Eternally grateful for the courage, sacrifice and dedication of all who serve,” McGraw writes. “Thank you to my family members and all of you out there who I have had the pleasure of meeting over the years! #Veterans Day.”

The singer posted the same photos and words to his Twitter account and within an hour got several responses.

“Amen to that,” a Twitter user says. “I have vets in my family too but I still try to thank every veteran I run into wherever. Thank you Vets.”

McGraw Shares Admiration for Military Service

Speaking to 102.7 Coyote Country earlier this year, McGraw shares his admiration for the country’s service men and women. He has several family connections to the United States Military.

“My sister was in the Army in the first Iraq War,” he says. “She was in Army Intelligence and my uncle was in Vietnam. My grandfather was in the Navy in World War II.”

McGraw says he admires the courage it takes to enlist, knowing you are putting your life on the line each and every day.

“It’s just a heart of service, I think,” he says. “It’s the willingness to go out and do things and sacrifice your life. Not only your life, but your family, all the things that they have to suffer, you’re willing to go do that so we can all be safe, so we can all live the life that we lead, and that we can do the things that we do, and have the freedoms that we have. They’re just special people.”
