Tim McGraw tossed back a sweet Grammy memory, to the time when his wife, Faith Hill, brought home three trophies.
The Grammys, of course, are this weekend. They’re on the minds of the country’s best performers across all genres.
So Tim McGraw tweeted about the ceremony. He said:
“Have a great #GRAMMYs weekend y’all….Congrats to all the nominees!!!! It’s a magical night, proud to be associated with all the artists who make magic for all of us.”

Faith Hill Won Big, But Tim McGraw Got An Award, Too
Faith Hill and her song Breathe won Best Country Album and Best Female Country Vocal Performance. Plus, to make the evening super special for one of Nashville’s top couples, Hill and McGraw won for Best Country Collaboration. That was for the song Let’s Make Love.
Other three-time winners from that night two decades ago included U2, Steely Dan, Dr. Dre and Eminem. Beautiful Day was the song of the year.
In the country music categories, Johnny Cash won Best Male Vocal Performance, Asleep At the Wheel earned Best Country Performance By a Duo or Group and Best Country Song was Lee Ann Womack’s I Hope You Dance.
Pandemic Delayed This Year’s Grammys
This year’s Grammy ceremony was delayed by two months because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The ceremony is in Los Angeles and will be telecast from an undisclosed location. It will be simulcast on the East and West Coasts.
Comedian Trevor Noah is the host. The top nominees are Beyoncé, Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift and Roddy Ricch.

Overall, Tim McGraw has won three Grammys. His first was with Faith Hill back in 2001. At the 2005 ceremony, McGraw won Best Male Country Vocal Performance for Live Like You Were Dying. It was a song to honor his dad, Tug McGraw, who died of a brain tumor in 2004. The next year, he and Hill won for best country collaboration for Like We Never Loved At All.
Two years after Breathe, Faith Hill won Best Female Country Vocal Performance for Cry.
So, there’s been a lot of Grammy celebrations at the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill household. But this year, it’ll be rather quiet, since neither is nominated. Still, as McGraw said, it’s a “magical night.”
