It was back in 1993 when country music singer-songwriter Vince Gill released his Christmas album, “Let There Be Peace On Earth.”

The album was filled with Christmas- and holiday-themed songs galore. Meanwhile, it was well-received by Gill’s fans and the general public, judging by the album reaching the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top Holiday Albums chart.

“Let There Be Peace On Earth” comes from songwriting husband-and-wife duo Sy Miller and Jill Jackson Miller. It was written in 1955.

Gill recorded his version of the song with his daughter, Jenny.

Besides the title track, other songs on the album include “Do You Hear What I Hear?,” “What Child Is This,” “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” “White Christmas,” and “It Won’t Be the Same This Year.”

His version of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” reached No. 54 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart.

Vince Gill Receives High Praise From Reba McEntire

Vince Gill is a guy with a reputation for having a big heart, willing to help other performers out. Don’t take my word for it, though. Listen to what singer-songwriter Reba McEntire has to say about him.

When Darius Rucker visits McEntire’s podcast, “Living & Learning,” Gill becomes a topic of conversation. She asks Rucker who are his biggest supporters since coming to Nashville.

“This is not going to surprise anyone — Vince Gill,” Rucker said.

McEntire, who has a long friendship with Gill, is quick to agree with Rucker on Gill’s contributions. She has much praise for the “Don’t Let Our Love Start Slippin Away” singer.

“Vince Gill is one of the biggest hearted people I know in my life,” McEntire said. “He always makes you feel so warm and cuddly and just feel good.”

Gill is a gifted country guitarist whose songwriting skills have impacted millions of listeners.

He has won 21 Grammy Awards and has received more CMA trophies than most other artists. Gill is the singer of numerous classic songs. He is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry.
