Ronnie Dunn channeled his 90’s self, flawlessly belting out “Neon Moon” while battling pneumonia, a cold, and a headache. Dunn completed this impressive feat during a recent event hosted by Bobby Bones. The memorable rendition of country music duo Brooks & Dunn’s hit song even inspired a richly deserved standing ovation from the crowd.
Ronnie Dunn Wows the Crowd
During the unforgettable performance, Dunn told the audience that he is battling pneumonia, among other issues. While Dunn impressed the crowd with his flawless rendition of the popular country ballad, he did admit to having a few drinks before hitting the stage.
During the performance, the audience sang the last few lines of the hit country ballad along with the country music star. Towards the end, the crowd held one of the popular song’s final notes for upwards of 20 seconds. An impressive performance considering the country music star was battling pneumonia!
“In Vegas, they can’t hold it half the time,” the country music star joked. Dunn was referring to the duo’s Vegas residency “Together In Vegas” with country legend Reba McIntyre. The trio has performed together multiple times over the years. Brooks & Dunn toured with McIntyre in 1997, opening for her during the “It’s Your Call Tour.”
Best known for their hits “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” and “Neon Moon,” Brooks & Dunn burst onto the country scene in the early ’90s. Since then, the duo has released 50 singles, 20 of which found a spot at number one on popular music charts.
Music For a Cause
For half a decade, Bobby Bones has hosted the event to raise money for the St. Judes Research Hospital.
Dubbed the “Bobby Bones and the Raging Idiots Million Dollar Show,” a record-breaking $250,000 was raised during this year’s event. Performances also included Kane Brown, Brett Young, Colbie Caillat, Gone West, Lainey Wilson, and Heath Sanders.
The benefit also included surprise guests Sam Hunt, Old Dominion, and rock band Foreigner.
