The Atlanta Braves had an important Game 6 against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. So, who did they get to sing the national anthem for the important occasion? That would be country music star, Travis Tritt.

The national anthem, otherwise known as the “Star-Spangled Banner,” is instantly recognizable. It’s played before thousands of sporting events every single year. So, it is always a special occasion anytime someone performs the national anthem before a big game. But when country music star Travis Tritt is the one performing, it makes it even more special.

Tritt, of course, is a Georgia native. He grew up just outside of Atlanta in Marietta. With that said, it’s safe to say that he has been a diehard Atlanta Braves fan for practically his entire life.

Tritt announced yesterday on Twitter that he would be singing the national anthem during the game.

“FYI — I will be singing our National Anthem for Game 6 of the NLCS in Atlanta tonight between the @Braves and the @Dodgers”

And on Saturday night, he did just that. And it was as glorious as you might imagine. He posted a clip of the performance to his official Instagram page.

“Thanks to the @braves for inviting me to sing the National Anthem for Game 6 of the NLCS. Also thanks to all the fans there who were so welcoming and kind,” Tritt said.

Country music fans and baseball fans alike seem like they were thrilled with Tritt’s performance.

“‘MERICA!” one fan commented.

“Someone who actually respects our National Anthem #honor #proudpatriot,” another fan said.

Travis Tritt Thanks Atlanta Braves for Allowing Him to Perform National Anthem

If you are a Travis Tritt fan, then you probably know that he has made headlines recently. That’s because of his decision to cancel some of his shows that required a COVID-19 vaccine. As a result, he thanked the Braves organization for not caving into the outside pressure.

Travis Tritt has sung the national anthem at Truist Park countless times over the course of his career. So, there’s no question that he has a great relationship with the Braves’ ownership and management.

Earlier in the season, there was a debacle involving the MLB All-Star game that was supposed to take place in Atlanta. But the game was moved to Denver. So, Tritt is loving the fact that the Braves will be heading to the World Series. That means that half of the games will be played in Atlanta.
