Besides getting to be the first leading female agent on an “NCIS” franchise show, Vanessa Lachey gets to do it while enjoying the tropical wonderland that is Hawaii. Lachey is the lead of the upcoming series “NCIS: Hawai’i,” which started filming just a couple of weeks ago.

Since then, Lachey, or the future Special Agent Jane Tennant, has been showing off how amazing her workdays are.

She recently shared an Instagram photo captioned, “Aloha Stadium! I LOVE my job!” The actor is posing in her “NCIS” uniform with the massive Aloha Stadium in the background. This stadium is in Central Oahu, near where the cast is stationed for filming. It is Hawaii’s largest outdoor arena.

Vanessa Lachey looks the part of Special Agent in the photo. She’s wearing the iconic blue hat that reads, “NCIS.” You can also see her badge sitting comfortably on her belt.

The new “NCIS: Hawai’i” show will premiere in the fall 2021-2022 broadcast season. The show will air directly after “NCIS” on Monday nights at 10 p.m. ET. Acting alongside Lachey will be Yasmine Al-Bustami, Jason Antoon, Noah Mills, Tori Anderson, and Kian Talan.

What to Expect from ‘NCIS: Hawai’i’

As filming has started, most of the cast has been announced and fans have gotten a couple of sneak peeks into the new franchise. We’re starting to get a better idea of what to expect from the upcoming rookie show.

The show is filming on Oahu and Larry Teng is the director for the pilot episode and the executive producer of the series.

According to an interview with Larry Teng with Daily Hawaii, the show is really meant to be a “love letter” toward Aloha State and the U.S. Navy.

Another huge part of the show will be representation and inclusion. Teng said he wants to be a proper role model for the Pacific Islander and Asian-American communities.

“Now that I’m back (in Hawaii), I feel like I have a responsibility to make sure that the community here, the people, the crew, that they’re all represented properly, you know?” Teng said during the interview.

The show will make sure that Hawai’i is properly represented in the crime drama. One way of doing this is using locals as extras on the program. The cast and crew even took part in a traditional Hawaiian blessing prior to beginning to film.

Vanessa Lachey has also shared her love for Larry Teng and his mission for “NCIS: Hawai’i.” She wrote on her Instagram last week,  “The Aloha spirit is taking us over and I can’t WAIT for you guys to see this show! I wish I can Thank EVERY person (and I will get to them over time), but first, I want to give a shout out to THIS guy! (And his diesel arms!) …”
