Father’s Day can be a bittersweet holiday for some people. Many people see it as a day to celebrate the men who helped to mold them. Many dads take the day as a chance to fire up the grill, hit the lake, or just relax. It can be a great day. However, there are many people out there who are missing their dads every day. Father’s Day puts a finer point on that feeling and makes it hurt a little more. Former NCIS star Pauley Perrette knows that pain all too well.
Fans of NCIS remember Pauley Perrette as Abby. Those who watched the first seasons of the series loved her character. Since leaving the show, she has started sharing more personal things with her social media followers. Her Father’s Day post was both personal and touching.
Earlier today, Pauley Perrette shared a moving Father’s Day post with her followers. The caption alone was enough to tug at the heartstrings. In the caption she says that for many people, herself included, today is Fatherless Day. She notes that after the pandemic that ripped through the United States, many more have joined the ranks of the fatherless. She ended the caption by urging her followers to love their fathers while they are still alive.
Pauley Perrette’s Father’s Day Message
Pauley Perrette’s caption was heartfelt and somber. However, that is just the tip of the iceberg. The video message to which it was attached further addresses “Fatherless Day,” her loss, and her compassion.
Pauley Perrette’s father passed away earlier this year. Her video message makes it clear that they were close. In it, she starts by saying that she posts for her dad every year on Father’s Day. In the past, when she made those posts some of her followers would say how happy they were that Perrette’s father was still alive and they were close. Then, they would share stories about their own late dads. This year, she says, she is in “that camp.”
Pauley Perrette went on to wish a happy father’s day to everyone whose father is still alive. Then, she passed the same warm greeting on to all of the dads out there. Then, she said that for her and many others today is Fatherless Day. Perrette concluded by saying, “I just want to send love and blessings because I sure know what it’s like. God bless you.”
