The “American Idol” host is selling his Los Angeles area home for $85 million. Remember, interest rates are dropping. Can you pull off the mortgage? OK, probably not.
TMZ reported Monday that Seacrest placed his home on the market because he plans on living full time in New York. He also hosts the morning television show “Live with Kelly and Ryan” with Kelly Ripa. He can commute between NYC and LA for “American Idol.”
If you can’t afford the asking price, you still can admire the home from afar.
The Ryan Seacrest Home Also Has Other Ties to TV
Seacrest bought the home from Ellen DeGeneres in 2012 for $39 million. He also spent $2 million to buy an adjacent property. If he receives the full asking price, that’s an eye-popping profit of $44 million.
DeGeneres bought the home from “Will and Grace” creator Max Mutchnick. TMZ reported that Mutchnick contacted Seacrest when Seacrest bought the home. Mutchnick told Seacrest he never finished the property to his liking, so he helped design some of the renovations.
The main house is 9,000 square feet. That includes four bedrooms and six bathrooms. The master bedroom sports its own meditation garden. The interior is all neutral tones.
There’s a chef’s kitchen that opens into an area with a pizza oven. The home also features a fantastic pool, movie theater, a bar area, a spa and a gym. The estate overlooks the city. Why would anyone ever leave the property?
TMZ also said that Seacrest owns other homes in Italy and California’s Napa Valley.
He can afford the quality real estate. Seacrest is worth an estimated $450 million.
Seacrest often is called the hardest working man in show business. Besides his TV hosting commitments, he also has a radio show. And he’s the executive producer for numerous reality TV projects, including Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
