Sharon Osbourne took to her Instagram on Sunday (July 4th) to celebrate her wedding anniversary to rock legend, Ozzy Osbourne.
“Thank you for 39 years,” Sharon begins the post, which features sweet pictures of the couple on their special day. “For the most incredible life together. The crazy, wonderful, and insane times. Yes, pain and sorrow too, but we got through it. We worked so hard for years professionally and personally. We succeed together. You are my soul, my life.”
Sharon also praises the marriage by noting that she and Ozzy have lived a “fantastic life” so far. “Every day is an adventure, every day I love you more and respect you more.” She then toasts Ozzy by describing him as her “soulmate,” “love,” and “friend.”
In 1970, the duo met through Sharon’s father, Don Arden, who managed Black Sabbath. Osbourne took over managing Ozzy nine years later after Arden fired him from the rock band. That’s when Sharon and Ozzy started dating. They eventually got married in 1982 and had three children, Aimee, Kelly, and Jack. The Osbournes, minus Aimee, went on to star in their own reality TV show on MTV from 2002 to 2005. Sharon then joins the panel of the hit talk show The Talk.
Sharon Osbourne Talks Marriage Struggles
Sharon Osbourne previously admits in Biography: Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne documentary that the marriage has had its up and downs throughout the years. She recalls when Ozzy attacked her and was arrested for attempted murder in 1989. She praised the judge who sent Ozzy to treatment for six months. “I had time to really think about what she should do. I told him, ‘I don’t want the money… but if you do this again, either I’m going to kill you or you are going to kill me.’”
Sharon and Ozzy’s managed to survive the situation, but they split in 2016 after Ozzy admitted to cheating. Sharon admits on The Talk after the news broke that she didn’t know what she was going to do with the rest of her life. “I don’t know where I’m going, [and] who I’m going with. I just need time to think,” she said.
Luckily, the split didn’t last, by July 2016, the couple was officially back together. A source close to Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne states that marriage counseling helped strengthen their relationship and they were “back on track.” Ozzy even revealed in a statement to US Weekly that he cheated on Sharon with multiple women and was struggling with sex addiction for over five years.
Last year, Ozzy stated to British GQ that four years after reuniting he and Sharon are “in a better place” in regards to their marriage. The rock legend also says he regrets cheating on Sharon and he doesn’t do it anymore.
