Amidst a controversial season 11, “The Talk” is still coming back for more.

The CBS daytime show, “The Talk” was renewed for a 12th season. The show shared the news with a tweet as well.

“The Talk” has been on since 2010 and was developed by host and actress Sara Gilbert. At first, the program was designed to talk about the issues and topics related to motherhood, but eventually, become broader.

The original panel was Sara Gilbert, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini, Julie Chen, and Sharon Osbourne. Over time, people have moved on to new projects outside of “The Talk.”

The current lineup is Carrie Ann Inaba, Sheryl Underwood, Amanda Kloots, and Elaine Welteroth. The show has been shroud in controversy over the last few months.

Sharon Osbourne was removed from “The Talk” on March 26. She had a heated conversation on the show with her fellow hosts. She defended Piers Morgan regarding his stance on Meghan Markle’s royal interview statements and made several controversial comments related to race.

Osbourne has since made several comments related to the situation and the overall workplace environment.

“I am not a racist and if you can’t have a go at your friend who happens to be Black, does that make me racist because I said certain things to my friend, but I said them on camera? I will keep on apologizing to Sheryl, even if I decide not to go back, I will still keep apologizing to Sheryl … have nothing but respect and so much affection for Sheryl … don’t want to hurt her,” she said shortly after the incident to Entertainment Tonight.

She has made several claims that she was “set up” and betrayed by her co-hosts on “The Talk.” CBS decided her behavior “did not align” with the network’s values.

Carrie Ann Inaba Leave of Absence

That’s not the only loss the show is taking. Carrie Ann Inaba announced in April that she would be taking a leave of absence. The “Dancing with the Stars” judge wants to eventually come back, however.

She wrote in a tweet, “I have decided to take a leave of absence from @TheTalkCBS to focus on my health and well being. I appreciate the support from you and my family at The Talk and hope to be back soon.”

She does not have a projected return date. Also, there is no replacement announced for either host of the show following one’s permanent leave and another’s temporary leave.

Inaba suffers from multiple different conditions — fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and Sjogren’s syndrome. She also revealed she has lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.

Her time away will allow her to put her health first. Amidst a controversial and ever-changing season, “The Talk” isn’t ready to put it all to rest quite yet. Although there’s several things that must be considered prior to the next season.
