Meghan McCain has a low tolerance for random people on social media making fun of her hair.

The co-host of “The View” and a political analyst, was sporting a high, curly ponytail during Tuesday’s edition of the talk show. The first hot topic was somewhat of a surprise. Rather than talking about the opening day of the impeachment of former President Donald Trump, the women discussed the new documentary on pop singer Britney Spears.

The documentary is called “Framing Britney Spears.” And as always, the ladies of “The View” had opinions. They all were sympathetic to Spears. Meghan McCain even showed some throwback photos of her 32nd birthday. She spent it at a Britney Spears concert in Las Vegas.

McCain, the daughter of the late Sen John McCain, also posted the same photo on Instagram. She captioned it:

“My 32nd birthday – front row seats to Britney in Vegas. One of the most fun nights of my life. One of the greatest living entertainers, she deserves better than what we have given her. Free Britney. #FreeBritney.”

Meghan McCain also showed off her hair in several photos she posted to her Instagram Live.

Meghan McCain Loves to Change Up Her Hair

All Meghan McCain was doing was honoring one of Britney Spears classic looks. Besides, of all the hosts, McCain really likes to change up her hairstyles. She’ll add extensions, going from short to long to short in the same week. The View, which is based in New York, has been going remote since Covid shut everything down last March.

McCain, who has a place in NYC, currently is living in the Washington. D.C. area with Ben Domenech, her husband, and Liberty, the couple’s baby daughter.

A fan made fun of McCain’s hair. The fan eventually deleted his insult. But screen shots showed he said “Meghan’s natural hair grew really fast,”

So Meghan McCain clapped back. She wrote: “Can a b—h experiment with extensions and hair pieces? It’s the pandemic, I don’t have that much to entertain me anymore.”

S.E. Cupp, a close friend of McCain’s who also is political analyst, was quick to back up one of her BFFs, posting “Yes she can.”

It all a prime example of what women in the public eye go through each day. They’re often heavily scrutinized about their looks.

Spears Documentary Shows Examples of How Public/Media Treated Pop Star

Now, back to the meat of the Britney Spears documentary. It’s about how the 39-year-old pop star still has no control of her finances. Her father, through a court order, does. The documentary also shows old clips of Spears when she was a break out star during her teens. It asks the question of whether the media added to Spears well-documented woes by helping to overly sexualize her. The documentary even addresses Spears’ relationship with Justin Timberlake. The two were both on The Mickey Mouse Club when they were kids.

Meghan McCain said on the show: “I think Justin Timberlake has some things to answer to, not just about Britney Spears, but about his role in sexualizing and demonizing Janet Jackson after the Super Bowl,”

“We have to look at why we treated a woman who was clearly in pain – and by the way, [Spears] was suffering from postpartum depression when she shaved her head and took an umbrella to a paparazzi car – why we treat women like they’re always crazy. Why women have no other option but they’re insane maniacs.

Meghan McCain said that we, as a society “have done [Spears] dirty. This is a moment in time for us to give her the support that she needs. And if she is in some kind of – what looks like being held against her own will by her dad … we as a society have a right to do the right thing with Britney Spears right now.”
