Good news for fans of “The Voice” today. That is, country duo, Dan + Shay, will be playing at the finale airing tonight on NBC.
The pair posted to Twitter to let fans know that they would be performing at the competition. They will be singing “Take Me Home for Christmas.” This is their single that appeared on the EP “Christmas Isn’t Christmas.”
The “Tequila” singers will be amidst the celebration and stress that goes along with the singing competition. America is voting between the top five competitors left.
Right now Team Blake has Jim Ranger and Ian Flanigan, Team Gwen has Carter Rubin, Team John has John Holiday, and Team Kelly has Desz.
Each judge has a shot at winning, with Blake having twice the chance.
Blake’s contestant, Jim Ranger, had Shelton joking that “Now I know how to make it last” regarding the singer’s heartfelt track, “Last.” The Bakersfield, California pastor worked with Shelton and Nashville hitmaker Ross Copperman on the original song, according to ET.
Dan + Shay Performances
The Dan + Shay 2020 concert tour had to be postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They are amongst many groups that have done the same thing.
“The reason we postponed instead of flat out cancelling is because we know so many of you worked hard to get the seats you wanted, and we didn’t want you to lose them … I remember the feeling of falling in love with bands, finding out they were coming to Pittsburgh, and refreshing a ticket link a million times when they went on sale just to get floor seats or close to the stage. we never want to rob anyone of that magic,” Smyers said on postponing according to Country Now.
This, however, hasn’t stopped the duo from making and performing music. They performed “I Should Probably Go To Bed” at the CMT and AMA Awards. Dan + Shay also performed alongside Justin Bieber for their song “10,000 Hours” at the CMA Awards.
They also released their Christmas EP to spread a little extra joy during these difficult times.
