Actor and comedian Tim Allen loves comedy, but nothing comes between him and good barbecue.
Before a Saturday night show in Amarillo, Texas, Allen shared that he’d just enjoyed some great barbecue at a place in town. The restaurant offers barbecue plates featuring beef, ribs, pork, Polish sausage, brisket and ham, among other items.
“Big doors just opened here at The Convention Center in Amarillo,” Allen tweeted. “I had great barbecue at Dyers Barbecue. Ready to rock the room and maybe burp once or twice, spicy brisket!”
Tim Allen Hits the Road
Since his hit TV show, “Last Man Standing,” ended in May, Allen has been hitting the road playing shows across the country. He’s performing from September through November, then in January and February, then again next July.
After the show in Amarillo, Allen’s next stop is the Mirage Theatre in Las Vegas.
In another recent tweet, Allen posted a picture of a packed room, then mused, “Wonder if I have to watch what I say? Not a chance!”
The comedian is clearly relishing his return to live performance. Allen’s stand-up comedy is reportedly R-rated, so it’s only for adults 18 and over.
Allen and Richard Karn, Al from ‘Home Improvement,’ Back Together for ‘Assembly Required’
Meanwhile, more than two decades after Allen’s original hit TV show, “Home Improvement,” ended, Allen has gotten back together with his old “Home Improvement” co-star Richard Karn for another show about handy people. Titled “Assembly Required,” the History Channel show is a reality competition that challenges contestants to build useful items from scratch.
Allen told Entertainment Tonight earlier this year that their new show feels like a real-world version of Tim Taylor’s fictional show on “Home Improvement,” “Tool Time.”
“This [show] is improv for 12 hours a day and I’m out of my mind. It’s just like Al Borland and Tim Taylor,” he said.
“Well, it’s improv with editing,” Karn chimed in. “Because more than half of the stuff we can’t even use. I don’t think America is ready for that.”
And the dedicated fanbase from “Home Improvement” is reportedly thrilled to have another round of Allen and Karn. Here’s hoping “Assembly Required” gets renewed for a second season.
