Comedy legend Tim Allen is thankful for the position he is in after the challenges that 2020 brought upon the country and world.
As it was for practically everyone, last year proved to be challenging for Tim Allen. The deadly COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc on all facets of life, leaving many to struggle. Allen also said goodbye to Mike Baxter, his character on the hit sitcom “Last Man Standing.” While the challenges of the past year were fun for no one, Allen is sharing his gratefulness with his fans. He took to social media on Thursday to remind his fans and followers that we are pulling through the hardships. He describes himself as “blessed” to be in the position that he is today and looks forward to what the future holds.
“What a year,” he says in the tweet. “Today my family and I reminded each other we were inside this time last year and the area we live in was deserted except for a little ice cream store. May pay a visit. Prayers to all those we lost and all those who suffered. Feel blessed to be here with all of you.”
Numerous Tim Allen fans and social media followers responded to his post by thanking him for sharing his feelings. His fans were quick to note that he isn’t alone in his feelings regarding the past year.
“Well, it gave me lots of time to binge on ‘Last Man Standing”again and get caught up on other of my favorite shows,” a Twitter user writes. “But the losses we suffered were heartbreaking. Prayers for all of them and those who suffered.”
“So down to earth Tim,” another fan says. “That is what makes you one of the greats!”
Tim Allen Sees Many Changes in Past Year
After nine seasons of “Last Man Standing,” Tim Allen and the rest of the cast said goodbye to the popular show. The show ran for nine seasons with six of those on ABC and the remaining three on Fox. Allen has noted the difficulty he had in saying farewell to his Mike Baxter character. He says he relates more to Baxter than many of his previous characters.
Allen celebrated his 68th birthday earlier this month with many of his friends wishing him a happy birthday via social media.
One of those friends was his comedic companion Richard Karn. The two men co-starred in the popular 1990s sitcom “Home Improvement” for years. They were reunited earlier this year as the hosts and judges of History Channel series “Assembly Required.”
Tim Allen and Richard Karn are awaiting word from the History Channel regarding a second season for the show. “Assembly Required” performed well for the network, fueled by the comedic chemistry of Allen and Karn. Both men have noted how much fun the show is and would like to see it return for another season.
