You never know what to expect on Paramount Network hit tv show “Yellowstone” and that is a reason fans love it.
The gritty, modern day Western series is full of twists and turns and surprises around every corner. The show wrapped up its third season just last year and fans are eagerly awaiting its return for a fourth season. Filming on the new season is a wrap and we should be getting new episodes coming up this summer, though a firm stat date is unknown.
As with most television dramas, Yellowstone has its fair of characters going behind the backs of other characters. While it doesn’t reach soap opera status, betrayals are a big part of the show’s backbone and plot.
Perhaps the biggest betrayal of the show came at the Dutton family’s infamous dining table in season two. Yellowstone fans were able to track down a still shot that shows the epic betrayal and its fallout. The photo shows John Dutton (Kevin Costner) sitting at the table as he “betrays” the family’s personal chef, Gator.
Alright, it’s a bit of hyperbole to call it a betrayal, but you can’t help to feel a little sorry for poor Gator. After slaving over a hot stove to prepare a glorious meal for the family, Tate says he would prefer something else to eat. And because John will do almost anything to forge a strong bond with his grandson, what Tate wants, Tate gets.
A defeated Gator heads back to the kitchen to grab the “Choco Chimps” and a carton of milk. That’s right — John Dutton turns down a hearty breakfast fit for a King for a bowl of kid’s cereal. The still shot can be seen here.
Yellowstone Season Four Could Feature More ‘Betrayals’
While the breakfast drama is far from an actual betrayal, the show has certainly its fair of back stabbing.
In season three, Kayce betrays Rip when he spares the life of ranch hand Walker by not killing him. After promising to take him to the “train station,” he tells Walker to leave and never come back.
Walker, however, is unable to adhere to the deal as his probation won’t allow him to leave Montana. Rip is none to happy when he and Lloyd discover the cowboy singing at a local bar. They take him and bring him back to the ranch, where, against Rip’s wishes, Kayce gives Walker another chance.
With Yellowstone returning in a few months, it’s likely some sort of betrayal will happen in the fourth season. In the meantime, check out this incredible video of John and Tate’s relationship from Paramount.
