Kayce Dutton and Rip Wheeler don’t always see eye-to-eye on the hit series “Yellowstone.” We even see the two throw blows at each other in the arena after Kayce returns to the ranch in the “New Beginnings” episode.
It’s what we’re used to witnessing in western films when things used to be settled by a quick fistfight. The only thing we can think of today that still follows the philosophy is hockey.

Anyways, we digress. Back to Rip and Kayce. The two do find some common ground and work together on the ranch on various projects. And in this case, they might have to set their differences aside and team up for the greater good of the Yellowstone ranch.
Rip and Kaye Might Join Forces
Seeing that Rip, and potentially Kayce, are the main characters left standing at the end of season three, they might not have a choice but to team up to avenge their family.
Instead of fighting with each other, the two might turn the fight on the enemies that took aim at the Dutton family.
Fans have taken to Reddit to discuss the prospect of Rip and Kayce joining forces to get their revenge in season four, Express shares.
These people have suggested that Rip will finally let loose and go on a rampage at the beginning of the fourth season.
Adorable_Sweet9722 said: “Dude Rip is going to burn the whole of Montana to the ground for what they did to Beth and John and I personally can not wait to see it.
“If Taylor Sheridan doesn’t let Rip loose it’ll be highly disappointing. I think Kayce will end up teaming up with him to tear some s up bc with his military background and stuff he was ready with his gun before anyone even entered the room so I don’t think he’s going to be injured bad if at all. Beth idk how she survives that bomb. That s was nuts. [sic]”
Other fans have support the Team Kacye and Rip theory. One viewer is saying Kayce and Rip will “team up to stack bodies like firewood”.
Fans Also Share Different Perspectives
Not everyone is going along with the Kayce and Rip brotherly-love theory.
MontanaJoev says, “As much fun as it would be to see Rip and Kayce go all scorched earth on people (and for me, it would be much more fun with Kayce, because I think that’s the real character we’ve only scratched the surface of in terms of what he’s capable of), I just don’t expect that to be the direction.”
“I expect if Market Equities is the Big Bad that ordered these hits, then what we are far more likely to go is a lot of strategy in figuring it out, then finding a way to take them out while not collapsing the whole Dutton empire,” MontanaJoev continues.
“I feel like we’ve already seen Rip unleashed, personally. He kind of is what he is. And him going around, killing people willy-nilly is not really sustainable. I’m sure there will be killing, but I don’t think we’re getting a Godfather-like massive wipe-out of the opposing team.”
Then there are the theories that Rip will be the one to find John Dutton and take him to the hospital. Therefore saving his life and furthering his bond with the father figure.
Moreover, viewers suggest that he’ll see Beth at the hospital. This will be the moment that he finds out what happens to his fiance. But then there’s the question, what if Beth doesn’t make it? Reddit users are speculating the Rip will leave the ranch altogether.
Fans are anxious to see how things play out. Some are wondering how Rip will react to the news about the family, especially Beth. Then there are others who want to see an all out war between the families, and the new adversaries.
Only season four will reveal what happens. What we do know is that filming has wrapped, and the fourth season will debut next year.
Season Three Ends, Leaves Fans Asking Questions
When season three ended, we were left with many lives hanging in the balance. Kayce Dutton’s being one of them, along with members of his family, and ranch hand Jimmy Hurdstrom (Jefferson White).
During the final scenes of season three, we see Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) opening an explosive device. She’s right in the middle of the explosion and fans are left wondering about her fate.
Kayce was targeted by a group of gunman that visit him at his Livestock Council office. We do see him take cover just in time.
Furthermore, John Dutton takes fire while he’s helping a family roadside. Even though it looks like he’s going to make it, viewers still aren’t 100-percent sure about the head of the family.
